• Ending Support for AOS6
    As highlighted in our 12.10 Update notes, we will be ending support for AOS6 with the release of the 12.11 Update due to technical requirements. Those on AOS6 will need to upgrade to a device that supports AOS7 or above to continue playing DomiNations.

DomiNations Update v11.2.5 - Oil Resource Update

Greetings Leaders,

Update 11.2.5 is rolling out live with multiple backend updates, some of which include network stability in battle scenarios. This update also includes a major revision to Oil with increased resource generation and how looting Oil from an enemy base works.

Many of you have been very vocal in asking for an update to Oil, a resource that is a necessity at higher ages as it helps to train some of the most impactful units in your Army compositions. We agree that as we continue to add Ages, they continue to gain more dependency on this resource exclusively. We’ve come to a point where updating how you collect this resource is also in need of an update to continue to remain on pace with each subsequent update and to improve the future state of DomiNations.

In the Oil Update, you can expect the following changes:
  • Increased Oil Storage and Oil Generation
  • Reducing the amount of Oil Stolen at earlier Ages from Defending bases while keeping the amount Attackers steal the same.
    • Originally, at base value Attackers could steal half of the available Oil in a Defending base across all Ages. With this update, we’ve reduced the base value amount starting at 25% for an Enlightenment Age base and then increasing with each age up to Digital. Steal-able Oil from Digital to Drone Age will remain at 43% with this update.
  • Attackers will have an increased amount of Bonus Oil when Attacking Bases.

With these changes, earlier Ages will see the most dramatic differences in their Oil resource. We hope this helps players have an easier time Aging up from Enlightenment and beyond. Once you start researching and improving your Units at this Age, Oil continually becomes a necessity to make improvements. This update should help to explore the possibilities at a faster pace while preparing to Age up.

Additional fixes alongside update 11.2.5 include:
  • Improved messaging around instances where retraining isn’t available
    • To remove the confusion from the current Network Disconnect “Yellow Circle”/Retrain issues, we’ve implemented messaging when a troop is untrainable. Now the Retrain button will appear disabled, and when selecting it, you will see a window that shows what upgrade is blocking your ability to Retrain.
  • Fixed an issue where Bastion placement could cause issues with placing other structures
  • Fixed issues surrounding some unit art that was not appearing as their correct Age
 
Lol.... Three people and we already posted thrice the same question. Funny how the most important point was written at the bottom
for real though is this why defense stopped working or is it why offense is over powered I really like to know because of an offence coalition wasn't working and offense was already op then this is bad and on the other hand if a defense coalition wasn't working then what one and did it effect the 1:30 times attackers were doing to 3 defense drone bases
 
Of course it's not my biggest concern at the moment, but I would also like to know more details about how it was or what was fixed regarding Coalitions.

Wanted to provide a quick update along with a bit more information into the line that is now removed from the notes. This is referencing an internal fix to an upcoming artifact going through QA. The change its referring to was an internal one done in a test environment and not tied to a coalition (they do share a similar name which is where the mistake happened). We apologize for the confusion, but please note that there have been no coalition changes in this update, and they are currently working as intended.
 
What a defender loses from the Oil Refinery is capped and is Age specific; I don't have the latest but know, for example, the cap is 9000 at Digital Age. A Digital Age player can have full oil and will only lose 9000 oil from the refinery after being 5-starred; the rest gained by the attacker is generated by the game (attacker still gains what they'd gain). In this sense, the announcement should probably clarify the cap, and differentiate between oil refinery and oil wells.

Nice that you listen very vocal people asking for this buff.
I didn't see nobody. And I know oil is not problem becouse I have and 2 smaller age accounts. The main problem is time.

If you really want people go faster tru the ages cut the building, resarching time for 50% for any age.

It's a waste of time with the oil improvements as l since the Drone age update and all the up grading I've been doing im only left with 3 worker and all Resources are always Maxed out . WE ALL NEED EXTRA WORKERS AT DRONE AGE LEVEL.
 
To those suggesting Oil isn't a problem... gaining oil is a real problem at earlier Ages like Enlightenment and Industrial; and Global. People in later Ages, say advanced Atomic and beyond, forget this. Aside from standard upgrades, the Library and University require plenty too... and remember Amelia? Sally Ride? Hannibal? Selassie? So much Oil. So it's a good move if you care about earlier Ages without relying upon instant training blessings.

Oil is not problem at any age from the time when they rase oil bonus from battle.
Now is very easy at any age to collect oil. If for you is problem that is saying something else.

How's your Industrial University going? Have all commando research done from Sally Ride? Amelia? All this without instant retrain?

Regardless, you are an experienced player and one that isn't accounting for 99% of the user base that still use inferior tactics. Drone Age players live in a bubble, especially those in the top 200 alliances. Simply telling people how terrible they are for not being you isn't the solution.
