Personally If I can not find 5 star battles where I use minimal resources I will just continue to drop trophies till I find that sweet spot. I have yet to see a reason to move up to higher leagues. League bonuses and the time to brew necessary troops are both huge turn offs. I also lose much more resources moving up leagues than I do squatting low. League bonuses do not make up the differences
If you want me to climb the leagues and use all my resources then its a matter of time. I want to attack often during my day not once every few hours.
If I attack and I don't get 5 stars then I have to fully brew an entire army, and tactics which means I have to wait. I don't play games to be forced to wait. I play to play.
I can never maintain enough resources to have all the blessings and mercenaries to make this happen. Not to mention the ridiculous time it takes to regenerate a generals as well as sending generals out on explorations to gain resources for museums and troop tactics.
I have no intention of purchasing any speed-ups to make the game faster. In my opinion the developer needs to make the game move along faster by reducing build times or citizens as well as reducing the time and the amount of resources it takes to brew troops or regenerate generals.
I don't even war because the only thing war does is slow down my raiding for resources. I want to advance through the ages and maximize each age. War would just add the need to use up resources (troops tactics brewing etc...) while reducing my overall ability to gain those same resources (because I am not raiding I am planning for war and cannot raid) . My example is enlightenment age, without me fighting any wars. By the time I am maxed out on EA it will have taken me 1 1/2 years.... That ridiculously long time and it makes me wonder if I want to move up to the next age only to see that time line move to 2 years.... I sure don't want to be stuck in any age for that long and that would probably make me uninstall the game. If I add war to this equation that 1 1/2 years will easily become 2...
