Paratroopers

HI guys,
I need your help. I am trying to know exactly and without any doubt if the paratroopers are considered as heavy infantry or not.
Actually i read that the paratroopers are boosted by Catherine The Great when she upgrades the heavy Infantry (DPS and HP).
So I am wondering that if they are considered as "Heavy Infantry" , are they also upgraded at the armory ?

Paratroopers fall under the barracks troop category, but have no barracks upgrade tree, so they are not infantry. They are upgraded through the armory under the transport tree, and through the library. Catherine infantry ups have no affect on Paratroopers. Also the Versailles does affect paratroopers under the ground force category.

Paratroopers are Airborne Infantry. Yes Catherine's university research does increase paratroopers stats. Also barrack blessings like weapons and armor increase paratroopers stats but they will not consume the blessing of no other barrack troop are used. Aztec and Cherokee also boost paratroopers. Airstrip troop damage and statue of liberty do not boost paratroopers as the paratroopers are ground units. It is confusing. But to keep it simple. Only Catherine's research is the mystery and the fact they don't consume blessings
