DomiNations Update 11.4 - Defensive Library Update

Greetings Leaders,

Update 11.4 is on the way with a tentative release date of Monday 12/12 (target release date could change should our final checks reveal major issues). Players will need to prepare to update to this version in order to participate in Wars. This is a major update to your Library research! We’ve also implemented a few UI updates to correct some visual issues that have been appearing. Additionally, we’ve done some cleanup on Drone Command related issues that popped up as well!

Defensive Library Bookcase

In our push to bring Defensive players up to speed, we’ve added a new bookcase to the Library that focuses exclusively on defensive improvements.

This new Bookcase will be unlocked as soon as the Library is built with all Level 1 books unlocked by default. The topics of research are as follows:

Additional Drone Age Point Upgrades
  • This update adds additional upgrade levels to the following:
    • 4 additional Command Post Levels
      • We’re implementing these additional levels to make sure the Tubman Capstone Skill is caught up to where the skill was previously left off based on the Garrison Building. As such we will be discounting the resource cost by 50% for the four upgrade levels (starting with Space Age) upon release of 11.4. When the discount goes live it will last for 7-days. The discount will only appear if you have downloaded the 11.4 update, so be sure to manually update when this becomes available for your region.

    • War Tactics: all receive one additional level
    • Decoy (Trap) one additional level
    • Ambush Trap one additional level

Winter Aesthetic
  • Winter has arrived in Dominations! We’ve updated the map with a winter theme to match the season.
Additional Fixes
  • Maori War Club buffs now apply to Troop Tactics
    • A small oversight as other Legendary Artifacts applied to both Generals and Troop Tactics in the past, Maori War Club is no exception to that rule.
  • Fixed errors in UI for Marco Polo
    • Removed an additional Oil Barrel sprite when in the resource trade window
    • Corrected the position of the tooltip box when tapping right side items at Marco Polo
  • Fixed visual issue with offensive drones in battle prep window
  • Wrong Default unit selected in troop tray corrected
    • Removed the second normal rally icon that appeared for some players in the troop tray
  • Retraining Troops not retraining all units after Drone Command Release
  • Corrected issue where a charged directive would lose a charge after friendly challenge
  • Implemented a fix to remove an exploit where Players could win wars with impossibly fast times.

Update 12/14
Added clarity to some definitions of the Defensive Bookcase in regards to Mortar Chapters, Sally Forth Chapters, and Fortify Chapters.

Unfortunately that was a big disappointment.... not only we were deceived by the bad choice of words but you do not understand that +1 maximum HT means NOTHING. Why? Cause if a base is allowed to spawn 4 HTs then the battle is already lost 1 whole minute ago.It would be interesting to make it +1 HT spawn per wave aka 2 cause strikers would need to decide whether they will get betrayal or some other tactic. And that would give defenders some chance to defend better. But nope... Once again your aim to help defenders has failed.
But hey...at least you got back the Gemini Glove!

No way that your Paras can stand versus six AC, which got also a 10% damage boost and (probably) additional damage and health versus museum as they are defending troops.

One thing looks realistic: a maxed drone age base playing 3O in war might be (very) hard to be taken down by a 3D drone age.

And at least we got a fourth bunker after completing the library research capstone.

Unfortunately it isn't AC that are being deployed from the Armored Ambush Trap, they are Heavy Assualt Vehicles; however, I do like the troop number being spawned
 
FYI, this update caused a glitch with the daily video awards. After video finishes, the app reboots. Not sure if anyone else is seeing this.
 
Harlems, maybe I’m confused. I finished upgrading everything in the Library. Aren’t the bunkers suppose to deploy two HT’s now. They are still only deploying one HT. Please respond. Thanks
 
I've updated the notes to try to clear up some confusion on what actually changed.

  • Sally forth, "Spawn +1 troops from Garrison" is adding to Max Defenders NOT per wave
    • Same for "+1 Defender from Bunker" in Fortify
  • The Additional Tower Damage chapters in Mortars refers specifically to Towers intentionally, this doesn't apply to Mortar Towers
 
All this whining, all these complaints, all this negativity - and guess what? You're all going to roll with it, get used to it and keep playing. At the very least, I hope you all got it out of your systems.
You asked for defensive buffs and guess what? You got them. Not in the quantities that some of you wanted and not what everyone wanted either. But a step in the right direction is better than 2 steps in the wrong direction.
I doubt the gripes will stop anytime soon but thanks for the entertainment. 😄

i think theres a bug with the bookcase. it seems i can unlock all the techs there. theres no filter that says unlock with levelx library. in short it seems i can get the industrial age techs in enlightment age

The image you attached is not effective anymore. They changed it, to the regular ambush trap without an advice. Mah... :(

IndEd, they changed the best D new thing. Well 9 Spearhead infantries from one ambush trap ist nethertheless a pain for Paras.
 
Its very strange no one is speaking about the standard towers boost! Its almost close to air defence damage now, I really love this so far.
 
yeah because adding more maximum defender and more maximum heavy tanks is reliant on the building not being destroyed in 2 min window of attack attack times barley slowed down War is still based on time not on stars it's a major let down for defense. it's a strategy game so meaning offense and defense right now the only strategy is dont even use defense and go straight time war the percentage isn't enough the damage isn't enough the range and rate of fire isn't enough and the total amount of defending troops on the battle field is over 100 less troop space than attackers

then. look at coalitions offence boost specific troops and all defense does is boost the damage and hit point.

another way to look at it is take the cannon for example it becomes and anti tank gun but the same range and rate of fire as a 17th century cannon??? air defense is still a 360 degree turret nothing like modern air defense

wall have 0 effect as artillery helicopter and mortar just fire over the wall with no counter

in modern war if bombers or transport or helicopter are coming attack aircraft are scrambled and take out the threat from range
also base mortar is the biggest building on defense in real life that mortar would fire a 50 mm incendiary she'll that would wipe out anything that wasn't a tank

Same with missile silo it's an ballistic missile that hits a group of mortar troops and they live through it a direct hit and littery minimum damage taken

defense is a joke still this is terrible please consider this

multiplayer buffs that are weak like the ones rolled out and also having war buffs that allow war driven players the defense they need to counter at least 30% of the time this way raiding and casual players aren't effected but serious war players can have competition. right now it's modern day offense vs Vietnam or Korean war era defense

you literally have the j-20 Chinese super stealth fighter and the b1B bomber and other current military equipment for offense and other than changing looks the defense operations are the exact same as gunpowder age at drone age

from gunpowder age to even drone age your saying that no improvement was made to defend in regards to range , rate of fire and ammunition. there is an actual war going on between Russia and Ukraine and I haven't seen a pirate ship era cannon being used to secure kiev , in fact the are using fly by wire tow missle system, star fire anti air defense that fires with extreme rate of fire almost Lazer like and had computer targeting systems the game has most touch with modern times
