• Ending Support for AOS6
As highlighted in our 12.10 Update notes, we will be ending support for AOS6 with the release of the 12.11 Update due to technical requirements. Those on AOS6 will need to upgrade to a device that supports AOS7 or above to continue playing DomiNations.

Thoughts on 4 new houses

After buying estates for 2 of my accounts, I was seriously considering estates for a 3rd account which is my favorite to play. My fav civ are the british due to the archers (longbowmen, etc.) actually being useful due to +1 range. I actually use 50% archers and 50% infantry on my attacks in the drone age! But i digress...

Now with the 4 new houses (thanks BHG or whoever is running the show (LTG) now), I'm not planning on buying an estate for $50 for my fav account.

So would anyone like to fill me in on why the 4 new houses were given? I love em, don't get me wrong, just curious.

Based on me alone, it seems like a bad $ business move based on what i outlined above.

Thanks in advance.

Let's all be happy that we've got four new houses because that's a lot of extra citizens to help speed up base development. :)

The estate is a great investment because it just keeps paying for itself every single day. The earlier you get it the better (I got mine years ago).

Also keep in mind one important thing... spending money is needed to climb up the VIP ladder. And you should really get to level 3 ASAP as that gives you a VIP retrain which is similar to the ad-watch retrain... except you don't have to watch an ad. :) Plus it's an additional replay so you naturally still get to use the ad one as well.

So yeah, I would say that the estate and getting up to VIP L3 are the two most basic things that should be sorted asap. Maybe someone else can add some others that we might be unaware of?

Years ago it was a good investment, now it's more of a 'want' item than a 'need'. The extra houses available these days makes a great incentive to start another account (I'm starting to get the itch again 😄) but I don't think I'll get the estate this time.

However, if you want to level up your VIP status with minimal purchases then, as astero said, the estate is a good option since it's not a one-time-use item like other purchases.
NOTE: despite what people might say, Dominations is not a PtW game or even PtP (except maybe wars) - so don't feel the need to pay anything despite the incentive to get the VIP training. You still have the benefit of free instant retrains (weekly) which are more helpful imo.

Yes, very true. The Estate is permanent, which is why it pays for itself every single day because you constantly benefit from it. I mean if you're going to continue to play the game for years to come then you might as well get it now.

Which are those? I only get the "watch an ad first" instant replays which seem to reset almost every 4 hours.

The only instant replay I get that doesn't require you to do anything (so truly instant) is the VIP one that you get once a day (from VIP level 3 onwards).

My bad, l was referring to the IRB - 1hr instant retrain blessings.
