• Ending Support for AOS6
As highlighted in our 12.10 Update notes, we will be ending support for AOS6 with the release of the 12.11 Update due to technical requirements. Those on AOS6 will need to upgrade to a device that supports AOS7 or above to continue playing DomiNations.

Increasing the oil training cost to 2k will make the unit much less appealing for people using them in their regular army. I don't want that. I think its an interesting healing unit option for some players and I would like to be able to try incorporating it into my army in the future also. I think maybe decreasing its health by 25% is enough. I'm able to fend off 50% of the attacks but eventually my trap blessing runs out or my another person makes a fruitless attack and my other blessings get knocked out. Then the deluge comes.

I already have my towers and air defenses spread far apart to cover all paths. Just trying to upgrade my air defenses to level 3 one at a time since doing it all at once would be a disaster.

I have no issues with climbing the leaderboard but these raids happen for me at higher medal ranges. I have oscillated my medals count a lot recently just to raid and get all my walls to level 13 for the discount event. I don't see how my decision to drop medals for a couple of days to upgrade walls makes me especially deserving of getting attacked by tactical helicopter oil raids though. Honestly, I fill up my refinery back to 220k pretty quickly even after I empty it on upgrades so losing 20k overnight on these raids doesn't affect me too badly. Its just isn't a nice feeling to log on have after working a 12 hour shift in the emergency room and watching tactical helicopter raids without any crowns to show for it. Its a waste of my time to recover that amount of oil and its boring for me to watch replays of it happening. If you can steal 5k oil from me by navigating your troops or your army through my maze of death, then I'd say you deserve it!

Thanks. I've actually made most of these changes prior to posting here. I agree with everything that you've mentioned though. These changes make a big difference for those that need help.

Imo the problem of raiding oil with TH is already resolved by players. These helicopters are hit by many kind of defense systems (air defenses, ASMs, sniper towers, defending infantries and tanks, defending HTs and even stronghold!) so designing a base which defeat the TH is pretty easy. As a test I have tried to loot some oil by TH in last week and I got almost nothing! The best one was the one which dropped 4 of my helicopters. When the new update released I thought the TH needs a nerf but now I am sure that it is well balanced and I am using it in war attacks for healing and dropping troops behind enemy walls.

O Yes this is without doubt ,he has freedom do stay wherever he wants in medal range ,so the attacker ,he has freedom to use whatever units he wants (why you treat them differently ?)

I'm pretty sure this guy don't have access to them and they looks like an unstoppable demons to him (absolutely what IzEagle said here "These helicopters are hit by many kind of defense systems (air defenses, ASMs, sniper towers, defending infantries and tanks, defending HTs and even stronghold!) "

You don't know the full of the problem yet. Currently only a few has the heli, but soon it will be all over the place. Who doesxn't want 2000 oil per minute? The defense help a bit but they are not hard to bypass, and upgrade the defense will took months if not years!

ReekyBullet Thanks for the advice! One thing that i just thought of but dont know if it would work is if you stuck a couple farms around your refinery so that raiders might actually target the farm first giving your defensive buildings a chance to take them out. Just an idea not sure if it would work but something to test.

It would also severely limit the usefulness of tactical helicopters for everyone else, to the point that they would just be another worthless unit sitting at the end of the resource bar. Changing the cost is probably not the way to balance these units.

I have a few ideas about that, but not having them yet myself, I don't really know what would amount to an appropriate tweak vs a unit destroying nerf.

I like this. And possibly more practically - ring it with a road (that has the traps on it), and some of your caravans will then show up and drop gold in there. That doesn't expand your defensive perimeter as much, but gives other targets the raiders may hit - assuming he had to use a rally to get the THs in place, and can't use it for the raiders.

TH drop units from above into location you choose within a helicopter dropping radius (range of 5) so actually this farms around your oil refinery will do nothing .But you have plantly of options to stop them .Yes they are powerful oil raiding option (but that's the point of a new toys isn't it ? ) And this 2000 oil per minute that Quang t legend is dreaming are laughable (I'm really speechless ....) Guys stop posting stupidity ....

Evningcome using raiders to get loot is limited to abandoned bases in any other strategy game, the idea of being able to loot an active base with heavly defended resource building in a strategy game totally eliminates the concept of strategy
for example in CoC, the raiders there (goblins) die in 1 hit, impossible to use for raiding deep seated resource stores in multiple wall layers, unlike dominations, using raiders represent the most successful way to get oil (hardest ingame resource) which is stupid, but in CoC u can use these goblins against abandoned bases to loot elixir and gold producing buildings left outside walls

yemen nope, helicopters barely die if ur using full scale attacks, they r pretty tough and unkillable by sniper towers
also in wars cost doesn't matter or nobody would be thinking to play heavy tanks combo which cost much more oil than helios
the only affected players will be the hit and run dudes who sacrifice their troops for the loot

Only way to know for sure is to test it. Unfortunately no one in my alliance is Atomic...

The people who can get the TH will go up against people who are already high up and should have good air defences. It's not going to be a walk-over as you might think.

I have all these defenses at max strength for industrial plus SAM sites. I wasn't aware of the stronghold being able to hit the Tactical Helis though. Defending infantries and tanks only come out after they've deployed raiders into your base though, which is usually a bit too late to do me any good. lol

Honestly, if you sit around with a full refinery of oil to steal for one night, you will see that it really is an issue. Even my Atomic level alliance member, who previously made the same suggestions as all of you, now admits that its super easy to steal oil using tactical helis since he cannot fully stop them with his own base. He has tactical helis himself though so he's making tons of tactical heli oil raids himself now. Unfortunately, that isn't an option for me right now so I'm just going to finish all my GA oil upgrades during this rush event so that someone else can continue to whine about it. Hopefully, Nexon presents a fix by the time I decide to go Atomic.

The units dropped from the TH don't actually attack their preferred targets until the building they are dropped on its destroyed. This continues forever as a bug where if you half-arse the first attempt, any further same units dropped will cross the map to attack that building lol. Only way around it is using helis or rally.
So no distracting sorry, good idea though
