Almost all games fall into the people under 18 category. If you read it the language goes far beyond loot boxes

Yes I read the article, it does state both loot boxes and micro-transactions that give you a competitive advantage.

You said it yourself NateTheGreat , "microtransactions that give you a competitive edge," not microtransactions as a whole. I still think it's a dumb move, people should be able to do whatever they want with their own money. Loot boxes advertised twords minors is another story, but at the same time, parents need to keep better control over what their kids are spending money on.

I tend to agree with you kilgore_trout. I'm more of a libertarian with respect to law making. People need to vote with their wallets and feet instead of being coddled and babied. But yes protecting children from learning addictive habits in games is important, but ultimately the role of a parent.

I say we just start requiring permits for parents to have children, and if they can't pay the permit cost and pass the written exam they aren't allow to have children in their possession. Guns are a right, children are a privileged lol.
