Greetings Leaders,

Welcome to our first Sitrep!

For the future of DomiNations, we wanted to be able to share the content you, as Leaders, can look forward to, all in one easy place. Our goal with Sitrep is to bring you up to speed on the state of DomiNations, including new features, updates, and opportunities for the community to get involved.

The team has been hard at work on upcoming features for Drone Age. We just released a teaser of things you can begin to think about regarding the Drone Command building. However, that doesn’t mean we have been leaving other aspects of DomiNations behind. We’re taking a look across the board at the economy of resources within the game and listening to player feedback that you’ve been sharing on the forum and social. We’re also looking at Troops across the ages, your experiences with features, and how players approach combat. Thanks to your generous feedback and passion, I’m happy to share that we have a few updates in the works!

85% Cap Update
In 11.2.5, we’re taking a look at how your modifiers from all sources impact your buffs and debuffs. We’re going to readjust how these stats interact before the battle. There were some instances in which High-Quality Artifacts that you built toward the Defensive end could create a scenario that didn’t feel great when focusing on these strategies. This gave advantages to offensive Museum Artifact builds and would sometimes create scenarios where Defensive Artifacts could lose their impact due to the level of buffs that Offense would have.

Before this update, the Debuff modifiers would be calculated as follows:

Player A: +200% Infantry Health VS. Player B: -200% Invading Infantry Health

200 + -200 (Caps at -85) = 115
Result: Player A’s Infantry will have 115% Health in battle as the Defensive Modifier cap would be applied before the final calculation.

Before the currently planned update, the Debuff cap would occur before the end result, meaning that anything higher than -85% would be lost.
The following is an example of what you could expect when these changes roll out:

Before your battle begins, we calculate the total of both the Buffs and Debuffs from the Attacking Army and the Defending Army. Once the result is calculated, the 85% cap is applied. The following example shows a standard matchup in which the stats negate each other, and no changes impact the Invading Infantry.

EX:
Player A: +200% Infantry Health VS. Player B: -200% Invading Infantry Health

200 + -200= 0
Result: Player A’s Infantry will receive No Change in stats, and the battle proceeds as normal.

But what if your Debuff greatly overshadows the opponent's Buff?

Player A: +100% Infantry Health VS. Player B: -200% Invading Infantry Health

100 + -200= -85
Result: Player A’s Infantry will have -85% Health in battle, which is the highest a Debuff can be valued!

The cap will apply to all Battle-Related debuff modifications affecting units and buildings. To be clear, the example here is just that and is subject to change. We’ll cover finalized details on the update to this modifier cap as we get closer to release.

Oil Economy Update
We also have a quick update on a resource in DomiNations. Based on feedback, we are re-evaluating the Oil Economy within DomiNations. These updates are planned to roll out in 11.2.5. We will have plenty more to share in the coming months, including a deep dive into the Drone Command Building.

First, thank you all for your feedback. With such a big balance update, we wanted to be able to get it in front of the community ahead of time, and we’ve heard your suggestions and concerns regarding the upcoming changes.

Because of this, we have decided to hold off on implementing the 85% debuff cap for the time being. We feel that these changes are still very important to DomiNations, but we will be going over community feedback to take a look at the concerns we’ve heard from the community regarding the impact on more Defensive playstyles.

Thank you again for your dedication and passion for DomiNations! If you have any additional feedback or suggestions on what you would like to see, feel free to let us know in this thread.

According to information from the first post of this thread, the update was never rolled out and therefore the example calculation (from the text there) still applies:

This should apply to all calculations, including your tower.
Accordingly, it is not worthwhile to bring negative buffs below -85%.

However, since the defence has recently been strengthened significantly, it is possible that the improved calculation will still come in the future. Just in case, you can also save -150% if you have enough capacity.
So the cap is applied to debuff artifacts or to defensive artifacts.

E.g. between AEDTD and ADTD, which one is capped first before calculation? Thanks
 
the museum+library/council is added together and the limit is -85% except for DST/EDST which is unlimited

the calculations were explained several times (museum/council library - museum/council/library) = value + basic value

Thats it and stop spaming the Forum and Discord
I have answer from CS as attached which insisted that DST is also capped at 85% after I asked 2 times. Can BHG admin help to confirm please and maybe sync consistent answer with CS? Thanks

It is capped but AFTER the comparison of EDST vs DST and only if the result is over 85%. Any number above 63% i think, makes you have max spawn of 10" anyway.

All other caps are applied BEFORE any comparison is being done. That's why there is no point going over 85%.

The only cap is the 10 second spawn time. But you have to calculate that yourself because you have Council/Wonder/Library/Uni and a lot more

DST/EDST has no cap of 85%.
 
It's strange that the only defensive entity that could be capped at 85% is calculated afterwards but tower stats are capped b4. Considering defense will be very OP in the near future (except two or three players with hangars who can 5* Rollin), urgent cap recalculation is warranted
 
Esas restricciones no tienen sentido, ¿incluso en los juegos te quieren controlar? ser justo y permitir libertad de acción y que la ventaja o desventaja sea el resultado de la resta entre un museo y otro y listo, lo más justo posible, sin intervención de nada ni de nadie.
 
As it stand right now in game defenders are truly helpless. You can have a level 450 base max stats on everything and still get smoked either cause you chose wrong def for attacker troops. Not to mention stupid seasonal buff that make it even worse. Currently I am sick of seeing fighter and bomber combo kill bases and their ground troops don’t have to do anything. How many time the base is cleared simply by air this makes being a defender pointless.

It’s simple fix defense and stop stupid seasonal boost that are nothing but I won buttons for attackers. Make game challenging for both sides but both defense and offense should have a chance on winning right now game is completely one sided.
 
I don't understand why you say that the game is completely one sided.
For years and years, us defenders, endured the painful experience of watching our bases getting flattened in sub 2 mins time. THAT was one sided! This went on for years. Now, it is the first time that defenders stand a chance to defend:
- Only the best strikers can five star good D bases
- with the usage of premium TTs or buildings
- after carefully analyzing the enemy base
- watching with detail the scout
- and all that only after strikers execute their attack to perfection!
I am perfectly fine with it. We have to work hard to get the 5 stars now. And all that comes from a player that is both a defender and a striker at the top 20 of the leaderboard.

Well if there is zero defense in the game as currently so one sided then attackers will get bored as well. I see you constantly say it is attacking game well there has be something worth hitting. If every base is 5 star under 2:30 what is really point of defender trying ?

Are you saying defenders may as well quit or switch and we can all fight AI bases . Sounds like a pretty boring game. If defense based players are not given chance they will quit . Then what

Here is idea make it fair not one sided and see how good your attacking skills really are. Fighting some with zero chance to defend sounds pretty awesome till defense side gets bored and leaves

Instead of talking in absolutes and using phrases like 'zero defense' or 'one sided' or 'zero chance', suspend your bias and read this again. ☝️
 
But that is not the case. I am in top 10 alliance . The way is actually working right now is too one sided and headed straight back to 5 star everytime.

It does not even take skill with half way desent fighter muse council and ammo equipped . All they do is wipe out all your defense with fighter TT bomber and extra TT from fortified stronghold and hangar. So your facing 10 fighter 2 recons and 4 turps. They are not even great attackers most lose their ground troops and only reason they 5 star is all air.

How long before this these tactics used by all attackers not long.

As I said before it is impossible to defend and eventually defenders will say screw it and walk away. Then in your attacking game who you going attack low level bases and ai bases cause all people realize defending is pointless.

Yeah, you are wrong. It’s a D game now. You need to be top attacker, with top museum with premium TT and special buildings to stand a chance to 5 star a maxed D base now. Most peeps aren’t so lucky. This will get worse as D finish their munitions and upgrade all the troop munitions they spawn on D

Or maybe you need to take some of your own advice and improve your defences and/or base design ... even though you're in a top 10 alliance ...
Get your top 10 alliance expert attacker friends to test your base.

It's more likely that if this game becomes a defenders dream then attackers will walk away because ultimately this is an attacking game. The idea of the game is to attack other bases. You don't make war by staying at home.

Neither. I’m a T1 attacker and old player, so you’d be wrong . I could say same about you…obviously you are incorrect as data does not support your conclusions . The fact is I am a good enough attacker and been playing long enough to know you are not speaking to truth but rather just bitter because alot of players can clear you. The idea that some D bases just shouldn’t be cleared is foolish.

Maybe you just aren’t a T1 defender if your base goes down so easy. And I never said I couldn’t take down T1 defenders with the premiums, I said to stand a chance you need them. How many attackers take down high level T1 defenders without paying for TT? I doubt many. Shouldn’t have to buy TT to attack. That says it all.
