Firstly the 50% and quick victory conditions should be removed so defensive wonders are useful, and medal hunting lower players isn't encouraged.
Secondly the following ideas make all wonders useful at all times and worth the time and resources spent on them without being too strong
Just my opinion (and of other players who no longer play), and I am fully aware that these won't be implemented.
What wonders should do:
Stonehenge: wall capacity increased by small amount and gives a bonus to gate HP (no radius)
Pyramids: +2 trade good capacity. trade goods can't be raided from you
Hanging Gardens: gold mines / trees don't require villagers. doesn't give victory percentage to raiders when destroyed. large amount of HP
Acropolis: with no 50% victory, this wonder would be useful
Forbidden City: with no 50% victory, this wonder would be useful. large amount of HP. food bonus not needed
Notre Dame: 10% reduction only to technology costs. blessings last twice as long. can't be attacked. no gold bonus
Colosseum: with no 50% victory, this wonder would be useful.
Terra Cotta Army: reduce troop training time by decent amount in addition to "bonus army" already provided.
Ankor Wat: range of towers increased by 1 (not catapults)
* it's the temple of the hindu god vishnu the protector
Temple of Tikal: unit training food cost reduced by 25% (rounded off). troop HP increased by 10%
* it's the tomb of a military leader
Versailles: battle tactic capacity increased. cooldown / heal-time of generals reduced by a decent amount. no slow effect
* it's the site of political power
Taj Mahal: free mercenary is actually a nice trade-good saving, but also give boost to mercenary HP and damage
Premium Priced Wonder Skins
Instead of the Colosseum, someone could spend crowns to change it's graphic to Himeji Castle. Same function, just a different look. This allows people to have more individual looking bases.
This would also let players have buildings which complement their nation. The colosseum in a Chinese / Japanese nation doesn't look right. Some people care about this
There are numerous examples that could fit each wonder as a skin
It's another way of making money, without cheating customers or "buying power"
Assuming of course that wonders were worth building
Misc
Blessings shouldn't be little things you place on the ground, but should be handled inside the temple building
Building HP could do with a small increase in later ages
Increase the amount gold mines provide in later ages
Option to remove "blessings available" messages etc that pop up over buildings
Set default camera setting to be zoomed out, not zoomed in
Increase to farm / caravan production rates in later ages
Roman nation bonus gives +2 units per barracks, not 10%
