What has happened to War reward chests?

My squad competed and won a war this morning. On opening the chest I received 2 low level troop recruits, 1 small speed up and 1 coalition. Previously we had been receiving buildings, high level armies and council cards. And now instead of 5 rewards, there are only 4.

Why the dramatic reduction in rewards?

We used to get better rewards even after loosing a war

This conqueror chest is like a joke, ranged infantry recruit, one flame thrower army, one coalition

to answer that it was part of "the ages event and anniversary" that they got souped up but now that its over... we are stuck with these lame rewards

These lame rewards seem to be much worse than before the anniversary, and do not justify the war effort imho

Reverting back to an older version of the Conqueror's Chest was not intentional. We're correcting the Conqueror's Chest now and will also be sending everyone 1x correct Conqueror's Chest as compensation, the one with chances at Bazooka Sentry and B-17 Hangar, even if you didn't win or participate in a World War.

Given the time and resources devoted to two war battles, and the silly low amount of loot, what’s the harm in making those reward chests more rewarding?
more people warring = better matchmaking
more people warring = increased participation and revenue for BHG.
were those chests designed when max age was industrial or what?

been playing since year 1
