• Ending Support for AOS6
As highlighted in our 12.10 Update notes, we will be ending support for AOS6 with the release of the 12.11 Update due to technical requirements. Those on AOS6 will need to upgrade to a device that supports AOS7 or above to continue playing DomiNations.

What artifact is worth upgrading?

I am doing one upgrade on each one-star dud before selling it. The net benefit is 25 more fragments for 25 less blueprints.

And I am doing two upgrades on double-star duds before selling them. The net benefit is 90 more fragments for 35 less blueprints.

Depends. Are you a strong defensive player who really has the base that allows those changes to make a difference? Do you get attacked with tanks to snipe your town center often (common at high medals)? If neither apply, then even though that is quite good, it would make more sense to use your scarce supplies on an offensive or economic boost from a different artifact slot.

The way things are currently set up, it will be a long time before you are able to get enough supplies to take any artifacts to level 5, much less several. So prioritizing will matter.

-11% heavy cavalry damage would be almost worthless to me - I get hit by full armies, either mixed or Heavy Tank (which that wouldn't apply to). The attacker's tanks are just silo decoys, they don't do any significant percent of the overall damage. 6% reduced supply cart healing would be barely noticeable, and doesn't apply to Tactical Helicopters. The reduction to fighter damage and ranged siege damage would make a difference, but sounds like those are level 4&5, so a lot of supplies needed to even get to that.

So I would personally look at that artifact, wish it were in a different order, and then use it until I found something better in slot 1. I would never invest in upgrading it.

Seems to me that blueprints are FAR more valuable than fragments since you don't just automatically generate them and can't get them any other way. When you really get a good one that you want to upgrade, you're really going to need those blueprints.

I collected more stats and I think the odds for each percentage are 0.05, 0.35, and 0.60 for 11%, 6% and 1% boosts respectively. They do appear to be randomly distributed across the 5 slots.

Nope not a whale ... just a grinder that has sold back enough duds to accumulate 3k blueprints. Without a decent artifact, blueprints are useless.

According to these numbers an artifact with two useful slots with 6% and 11% is definitely rare and worth upgrading. And I wouldn't recommend upgrading defensive artifacts, as it usually goes - attack first)

I think you are a bit crazy to waste blueprints like this. consider the math, you are either paying, 70 fragments for 15 blueprints (not upgrading and getting a trash object) or 45 fragments for -10 blueprints (the same trash object.) Yes you get to see 2x the number of artifacts, but that is the only benefit. You are actually losing 21 blueprints net rather than gaining 15.

it makes sense if you have upgraded all the stuff you want to, and are looking for better artifacts which will be rare.
few people will be there, but it's strategically legitimate once you are there.
upgrading 2-star duds looks the most lucrative, that's what i'll do first when i have all my useful artifacts upgraded.

Here’s some hint: if you sell legendary, you’ll get 1429 supplies. I just did it on my GPA alt.

I don't find it crazy to trade blueprints for fragments. It's been said already but that gets you twice the amount of artifacts and depending on the ease to which a player gets fragments, it's a viable strategy. Spend the 40 blueprints to upgrade once and when you sell you gain 50 frags and lose 10 when you sell it back. If you happen to get a 2 star dud than you break even on blueprints. For those that don't want to lose the blueprints, chances are you probably have decent artifacts already but for those that have mostly items where the first line is the only good one (Like myself) than it's worth the sacrifice. The museum event is currently going and even upgrading once will not cause you to lose blueprints but the gain is now 60. A 2 star will actually gain you blueprints.

As far as what to keep, even with a lot of high numbers, it still has to be ones that benefit you and you really, really need to consider ones that have great stats but require multiple unlocks to reach. If you have 3 trash stats and than it becomes good, is it worth wasting the supplies for it? Probably not as supplies are at a premium. For MP I would personally not keep any 6% unless that's the best you have at that time than for sure keep it until you find a replacement. For war artifacts 6% appears to be the max but again you really need to consider what is worth unlocking because essentially supplies are even more valuable because you are spitting the supplies towards 2 different areas now.

Opinion only but don't worry so much about trying to get a really good defensive artifact or spend many of your blueprints/supplies on upgrading them because the rebalance has already boosted things to much. Obviously if your base looks like an easy target it doesn't matter but the rebalance has really made player think twice regarding attacks. Not trying to get fancy on defense because I don't want to use too many supplies but at the same time I'm CWA so it's a little easier to say. What i have for 2 armor slots dual -11% fighter hp which I've upgraded to lvl 2 since it's cheap and for pottery I have dual towers +11% dmg also up to lvl 2 each. While it's doable, without planes you generally lose the fight and because towers are the most plentiful of def buildings, buffing them up makes sense to me.
