Tips on upgrading walls

Hi guys. I just want to know what is the best way of upgrading walls. I always used to upgrade them when I was finished with my other buildings. But since they became expensive. Upgrading them all at once is a little boring. So. I just wanna know how you do it

Yep, basically what Wrathchild said.

Keep your medal count low and annihilate those rushed bases for Food, Gold, Oil and NTGs.

Having good Museum looting Artifacts would speed-up the process.

With retrain blessing, high medals and artifacts that increase loot you can upgrade walls really fast. With no retrain blessing I would indeed stick to low medal rushed bases.

Wall Defenses are critical in slowing opposing forces to prevent a five-star attack on your base; especially if you are Pre-Gunpowder Age. Align with your Roads and place Traps at key locations plus direct any Catapults for Splash Damage within that zone for best results.

Bastions provide ‘rubble’ when destroyed and provide the ideal strategy versus Wall Miners that can one-shot your Wall to immediate entry as it provides a Movement Speed reduction - similar to that of Versailles Wonder and Caltrops.

You also gain more Walls (10) via Library Technologies. Upgrading these as quickly as possible are recommended to avoid being seen as a weak base and raided for all resources.

I always wait for a discount event and then go hell for leather on walls.
Around that time any citizens go on oil resource related upgrades.
