The useless (Archive ) building !

The Archive building shows doing the same thing exactly like crowns !
if you consider speed up items as crowns ( that what they are in the reality) you will realize they only changed the shape from crown to the speed up window for boosting upgrading time!


So it brings us this question whats exactly the difference between speed ups and crowns ?? TinSoldier ?

Iv got 1x 6hrs speed up item, so it means Iv got around 80 crowns (that I could get it from video rewards) ,anyway is not bad for free and only faced to another offer for 2x 5min speed up which I ignored that and thats all ! couldn't see the speed up items offers any more so far and its the same situation for my allies , so they only randomly offered 1-2 different speed ups items to everyone in order to let everyone know how it works ?
as I said is not bad for free (only in high hrs) , but in the sales its just a BHG's trick ! we are not stupid NEXON & BHG to only change the currency !!

it could be different and useful if it boosted upgrading time of all of the actions together !

Recently they added two unnecessary buildings to the game ! the crown Dock and Archive building ! Crown ship could be included in the anchorage and archive building is completely a useless building that only occupied space ! they could offer Crowns for free instead speedups if they are right !

Suggest you guys do not upgrade Archive building more than lvl 2 ! cuz you just wasting your time and citizens !

I will withhold judgment until i have it maxed and we see the frequency of one and five day speed ups without having to purchase them. As of now it's just a time-consuming speed bump on my bases.

I've already finished leveling up the archive to level 6 and have yet to receive a speed up. What a joke. NexonM have truly outdone themselves with the futility of this new building.

I think it is usefull because we never got crowns for free with the league boat or victory chests, maye with exception of the stag lures.
Now we get it in the form of speed ups which can be used whenever you like to (saving them for the right moment is key)

The community, for the 2 last years, is complaining about extremely long upgrade times. The fastest upgrades I have available are 9 days. Half my base needs 12+ days. Imagine that I have stopped looting for days, if that means anything. So, Nexon says "we have an answer to that. It is called Archive"!!.
The community is happy but cautious because we already know to keep a small basket.
Nexon releases the update and after so many days, the majority earned 0 speedups or maybe a few speedups of 1 hour. 1 hour!!! What am I gonna do with a 1 hour speedup?? The inital thought was that this would be a system that you could buy speedups with crowns for a better deal than actually giving crowns to the building straight away. The more optimistic people, imagined that it would be a system that you could craft speed ups using other resources like oil/food/rubies etc But noooooo.

Nexon had a nice idea. It was badly implemented so far. They basically gave us nothing!!

I'd echo these thoughts. I can't vote either. That's always a problem when people create polls that are clearly designed to support their way of thinking. Why not just give two options: "I like it" and "I don't like it," if you really care what people think?

I don't consider speed ups to be anything like crowns. You can use crowns to complete an upgrade. You can use speeds ups at any point along the process to speed up any amount of time. Last I checked, there wasn't a crown option to just knock an hour off an upgrade, unless you sat around waiting to use your crowns until there is just 1 hour remaining.

I agree with ratata as well. Basically, a way to get crown equivalents from the boats and chests, where none were available before.

But SharkyFinn I don't think your example actually is any improvement at all over crowns.

If you aren't going to be on 1 hour before the building was going to finish, then the speedup is wasted if used earlier (since your workers will finish and sit idle). If you will be on, you can use it then, or do crowns, for the same outcome.

I think for most of us the normal process is to either 1. crown a building to completely finish from the start if in a real hurry 2. crown a building part way through for a specific reason (want it done for war, won't be online when it finishes, etc).

In either situation, there is no benefit to applying the time reduction any earlier than the time when you want it to be completely done. I can't envision a scenario where using it earlier would be better.

Due to the poor crown:time ratio in the final stages of an upgrade, I would never spend crowns to finish a building an hour or two early. If I don’t have the crowns to instant upgrade, I won’t use them at all and I will just accept that the upgrade is going to finish naturally. I just don’t use crowns for such small gains whereas I’ve used all my speed ups and will use others in the future. I also like how easy they are to read. If I needed an upgrade to finish at a specific time for war or whatever, I wouldn’t have an easy way to figure out when I needed to login and how much it was going to cost me at that time. However, I can look at my speed ups and clearly see how much time will be saved. They’re far more convenient and easy to understand.

You can say speed ups are the same as crowns, just as you can say that coupons, rebates, discounts and sales are all the same as real money, but you’re missing their purpose. They are designed to encourage spending on a particular item, and in that regard I think they will be successful.

Typically I only spend crowns for speedups of the final minutes if there is a reason I can't get on when it actually finishes - travel, an event, too late at night, etc. I would use speedups for those now, but I wouldn't do it until right before the end.

I don't think they will encourage much if any actual spending as long as they aren't a MUCH better value per day than crowns, because they are less flexible and less convenient. As long as we get them for free, they can be a crown substitute. I still can't imagine a scenario where would be better than crowns as currently constituted.

ratata, SharkyFinn & yemen , you may right about the 3rd option , but if I didn't it was due to as I explained the whole of Archive Scenario is about deception !
they only give us a few of speedup items and only those low hrs to decepte and encourage players buy them from the sales !
and those they offer for free they are not worth to pick unless if they be in high hrs at least more than 6hrs ! and i can guarantee you will very rarely meet them !
anyway I added 3rd option to the poll as you wished and in order to don't call me a dictator ! hope it helps and feel free to vote now !

During development, the team has discussed storing a wide variety of things inside the Archive. They may re-visit this idea in the future, and we'll be sure to call them out in future releases.

Personally, I've been able to use Speed Ups to adjust the ending time of an upgrade so I don't need to wake up in the middle of the night to put my citizens back to work.

Not a fan of Archive but got a 6hrs speed up and use it for Selassie at university, and was able to make 2 steps same day. My concern is like supplies to get them it’s rare and difficult essentially if your dock is fully upgraded
