• Ending Support for AOS6
As highlighted in our 12.10 Update notes, we will be ending support for AOS6 with the release of the 12.11 Update due to technical requirements. Those on AOS6 will need to upgrade to a device that supports AOS7 or above to continue playing DomiNations.

Revert the rebalance — a plea to BHG/Nexon

I’d like to see the rebalance rolled back, but I agree with Quebec Glory. It’s too late. Also. Despite the fact the rebalance has dissolved my interest in being more than marginally active in the game, I’m glad to read Big Fish and others are in support of it. Whenever a game changes some will like it and some won’t.

The community of players of this game that I am connected to are indeed a far cry from a majority of players. Probably only a small percentage at best. With this in mind I cannot speak in absolutes, but can only say that of the small percentage of the community I was engaged in, the bulk have shared that the rebalance has had a similar effect on them as me.

I’ll take a moment to reflect on my experience alone. The rebalance has made everything take longer. It’s true, there are ways around much of it (speaking only of multiplayer as is I don’t enjoy war anymore) - but it takes more time to drop medals. It takes more time to skip over more bases to find one to attack. It takes more time to retrain a higher number of troops lost in an attack. For myself, I don’t log in to sit there and wait or skip over bases. That’s why i log out, which I’m doing a lot more of now. My food based troops and my unique nation troop are noticeably less effective than they used to be, and factory troops take longer to train...so I have to skip more bases to find one to attack with my food bases troops....which takes longer so I log out.

For me, this is what the rebalance equates to: less time spent in enjoyable gameplay, no matter how you slice it. Is it harder than it was (ie: more of a challenge)? For sure it is. But honestly, previously, the player always had ways to manipulate attack conditions themselves to increase the level of challenge when desired. For example, attack with less than a full troop compliment because you are leaving your heavy artillery pieces training and doing the next attack without them. Or, climb medals. Or attack higher level bases than normal. These controls always existed in the game. Now there is just far less variety across the board.

Can you work around the rebalance to a reasonable degree? I’d have to say yes. But I don’t enjoy HAVING to. And I don’t enjoy staring at the buildings on my base to see if I can tell what time it is by the shadows behind them in the artwork (or whatever one does while waiting longer for troops to train).

I could go on in but that there is really the jist of why I’m not in game very much anymore.

Ill touch on spending - which I don’t tend to do - not to try and use as some kind of club to hit you with, but because, for me, there is a correlation between spending and engagement level with the game.

Im level 257 I think. I have been happy to spend on the game over the years. Not as much as many, but regularly. Was happy to do this because I have an entertainment budget and I’m happy to spend on a game if it’s entertaining. Seems more lasting than paying for a round for the boys even. Anyway, I have come to realize I haven’t spent anything in a long time (before the rebalance tbh, the game gave us clues where it was going back when atomic was the top of the mountain) because I’m not being entertained. If I may, though, I will add that the nature of the sales is a bit of a turn off lately. The eight different things on sale and the unlocking sales and the museum sales....I think I’ll refrain from detailing what turns me off the museum sales.... The whole sale set up now seems a little, I don’t know, a little much I guess. Not saying it is but it feels desperate, and therefore cheap. As an aside, I personality think this game is better than that. Enough said.

Anyway. Not raging against the dying of the light or anything dramatic like that. I’m happy to hear that some are enjoying the rebalance and that the game moves on, with or without me doesn’t really matter. But if you were interested in a suggestion: dramatically shorten unit train times and I’d be quite happy to keep forging ahead, because it would mean more play time, and it would be fun again. For me, really, do what you want with the game. Games are always evolving, I expect that. Just make it playable for me and I’m in, that’s all.

REVERT THE DEFENDER BOOSTS!

BHG_Muet it’s embarrassing to watch a MK2 HT take out a MK5. From one lead designer to another... surely you can see how poor this is?

Defenders killing attackers of the same level or above is dumb (Defending Heavy Tank mk5 kills 2 maxed generals or two HT mk7!)
RPG tent (yes its a tent) having more hitpoints then a maxed fort (from concrete) is dumb
A howitzer falling short against a sniper tower is dumb
A heavy tank moving slower than infantry is dumb
One elephant archer killing 6 maxed main battle tanks is dumb
Not having regular troops against those devastating traps is dumb
Attackers not having any usable tool against the silo is dumb

Easy solutions
Bring those stats of the attackers and defenders even again (maybe add additional damage to them near the fort?)
Instead of the RPG Tent create an RPG bunker (grapics) and decrease a bit its hitpoints
Add dps to the artillery, decrease the hp of sniper towers
Increase the speed of all tanks (or add speed increase aura to a general)
Make an evolution of the EA for each level - change graphics (EA till Enlightment Age, then switch them to tanks - the same as cavalry)
Add trap dismantling feature to some of the gens or commandos/guerilla (over a library research or from certain lvl)
Add a silo distractor tactic (consuming 3 tactic slots) lasting 1 minute with massive hitpoints for distracting the silo

I had betrayed an HT MK5 and I had in my army a MK3. A defender HT MK5 approaches and succesfully kills both of my HTs!!!!!
It was 2 against 1 and they died!!!

Where is the balance in THAT!!!

A buildable unit that disables traps would be high on my wishlist as well. Having the only things that can disable barbed wire(spies, crab tanks) being tied to RNG(chests, boat, expeditions), events or $$$ only is a bit crap. Especially since most base designs long ago incorporated the obvious barbed wire choke points that you can literally do nothing about. All the other traps can be managed with decoys or cannon fodder troops but it's insanely frustrating watching your armies move to obvious gaps then just stand on top of the barbed wire for precious seconds at a time while getting whittled down by defenders.

Whether you like the rebalance or not, it all boils down to this :/

And less fun! 2 very important factors in any game. TIME+FUN. We give our TIME to have FUN in exchange. In this game that time is so extended in almost everything, FUN is the major factor. That's the main reason that people leave.
