I am posting this again. My alliance Canadabis is at constant WAR. We are 50 group and now struggle to field 20 fighters because no one has troop tactics. I personally have been out for a month. Got excited when I saw an event that could give me some, unfortunately it’s a speed up event and we all know how that went last time. Please at least tell us your objective for the troop tactic change. To us it appears you want to limit WARs. It’s working, we are now considering only doing 1 WAR a week instead of one after the other. Surely you must be getting the message we’re sending you here? To summarize the update limiting troop tactics has greatly reduced the enjoyment of the game. That should concern you.

It's been more than 2 months since Marco Polo offered us Troop Chests which include Training and Tactics blessings. And by offering us Troop Chests I mean more than 1 chest. Which is just pitiful.

Nobody wants to pay 300 Rubies for 1 useless Pirate army or 400 Rubies per 1 Impi Army.

Or........you could just play without troop tactics. They're supposed to be a bonus/emergency option, not part of your strategy for every single attack. I pity you players who came up thinking this is how the game is supposed to be. Even if Nexon allows us to buy 10 Troop chests on Friday it sounds like you'll just run out of them again after a few wars. Maybe you should learn to fight wars without them? Being so dependent on something that can have its supply turned off and/or heavily monetized on a whim is never a good thing.

To be clear, I'm not trying to antagonize or mock you. I'm just well aware of the fact that tens of thousands of ideas/suggestions/entreaties on this very forum fall upon deaf ears so basing your gameplay on developer empathy and generosity will probably lead to disappointment.

And I'm here, beside bumping this demand (I hit Like too), is because I'm curious why it took 20 minutes for Bootney to edit his short post 🤔😂

If you're in a middling alliance and don't have the (dis)pleasure of hitting max 3D bases with zooka towers in every war, then you can get by with 0TT or dock cards.

I'm flattered that you called us a middling alliance! If it takes a dozen troop cards on offense and defense to succeed in each war then it's simply not worth it to me. Not as if glory affects gameplay in the slightest. It's a rich tapestry we weave though so hopefully the powers that be give y'all what you want to knit your corner of it.

Long ago someone suggested that troop cards should be like contracts. Meaning you can substitute them in with your regular army for extra punch but you should have the ability to build 300 troops from your barracks/factory alone. This game went downhill when the devs decided you could spam up to 160 troops via cards yet could only build 155 troops yourself. Almost every poor decision from the last two years springs from that point. I digress, there's no putting that toothpaste back in the tube. So best of luck to all in getting what you want.

Simple, not all of us live on this forum like you do. Afterall, I used to be fairly active here yet you have four times as many posts with only a seven month headstart. Nothing wrong with having a hobby though, so you do you. That said, sometimes people come back and add things later.

Like I said, nothing wrong with having a hobby. Even when I disagree with your premise you've always been respectful and engaging so whatever floats your boat.

Fully agree with Bootney Lee Fonsworth -- Troop Tactics are optional and borderline unnecessary. Take a step back and strongly consider 0TT. This may mean modifying attack strategy (e.g., less brute force and more attack planning). 0TT can be more fun... it is for me at least. Trouble is most don't strive to improve/change and instead assume others are magical beings not of this earth or simply better players. That's rarely the case.

I see too many attacks in the world relying upon troop tactics to go along with their heavy cavalry / regular tanks, and/or mortar infantry, and/or demolition on silos and defenses, and/or raiders, and so on. Terrible attack strategy (e.g., STOP USING TANKS AND DEMOLITION) that may as well use zero of their own troops and only use troop tactics. So while this is the worst case scenario (and not suggesting folks in this thread do this), it's surprisingly common.

So, start going 0TT and ultimately it'll mean improving your game. You'll get better and gain confidence. Build up your troop tactic supply and only use for emergencies (as back up) in the meantime. Choose your own barracks/factory troops wisely, be extremely specific in donation requests, and truly work on improving your game.

Related, everyone should use more commandos; they allow folks to attack higher level targets. Commandos are truly awesome.

My favorite is when newer/less experienced players deploy from a bad spot and get their regular army massacred then spam 3 or 4 troop cards from the exact same spot hoping for better results. I don't know, the game is way more difficult than it once was, yet it also gives you way more tools than it used to to practice/experiment with. It is shocking to me to see players logged in for hours a day, yet perpetually get 0-2 stars in war without ever doing friendly challenges or attempting to change a thing.

Full disclosure: calling my alliance middling is being generous. 14k glory/perk 7. But grinding my teeth through time wars with max bases, troop cards, and event buildings on a phone game has zero appeal to me. Would rather play a better realized game on a different platform if I want that sort of digital masochism. So I can only speak from the perspective of a filthy casual. It is always interesting to hear from those higher and lower on the food chain.

I play this game very infrequently but have a goodly supply of troops from the dock. Like Bootney Lee Fonsworth said troop tactics should be used sparingly so the dock troops do the job adequately, at least for me.

i would like to add that being among the top attackers in any alliance, forces you to attack the hardest bases in every single WW. That means that your opponents can reach as high as 20-50 levels above your own level. Which means that going 0TT is a complete suicide. In my case, I have 0 choice in the matter. I need troop cards in every single battle in WW.

Normal MP is a totally different thing. I haven't used any for a whole year or so.

Don't think we stop wars because of the lack of troop cards. Might be a few months or maybe a year before everybody is low on SH troops.
Those that buy the cards will be the ones on top the rest will be sub top.
Do agree that participating in war becomes les intresting because rubies are worthless at the moment.
Every single war should be a all in including SH troops. Those that don't fight wars as often will have les troops cards to spend.

Agree the top players have a harder time. However the rest is all about good planning and strategy.
Just assigning own number will get you lots of failed attacks and unnecessary use of SH troops.

The fact your suggesting to go 0TT will take a way a lot of strategy from the Wars. That strategy can make the difference between win or lose.
Not saying 0TT wars are less fun because I think they are more fun. But aslong as the option is there we should use it.
And personally don't see myself getting in touch with my opponents alliance to agree on a deal for 0TT

I'll admit to using troop tactics in the majority of wars....on defense. It's usually quite effective in the lower glory hinterlands where I'm at. Far more than using 2-3 times as many on offense. It seems that it's pretty much a prerequisite for wars at higher levels which is where I take issue with the devs' decision making these last few years. Something that could have been a nifty strategic option and added color and variety to the game has instead become the primary focus. Which is a shame since the bones of a nice pick up and play strategy game have been here all along. Granted, most of us saw which way the wind was blowing when the stronghold was announced and a fair amount are still here.

This game is still better than the vast majority out there in the mobile realm. It's just unfortunate that shortsighted decisions in lieu of big picture thinking, refusal to improve myriad user interfaces and other QoL tweaks, and a staggeringly pigheaded lack of communication keep it from being truly great. Ah well, such is life. In for a penny in for a pound.

I'm not suggesting making it an 0TT war; I'm suggesting you and/or your team go 0TT (or rather, make them purely optional) and not worry about the opponent's TT usage. You'll become better attackers and do just fine in most cases.

Hate to state the obvious, but if you guys brought your coalitions with you to war you wouldnt be having such a hard time. If NTGs are holding you back, drop some medals. I have a ton of TTs saved up and I rarely use them, it's not because I'm a badass, it's because I always roll with coalitions
