• Ending Support for AOS6
As highlighted in our 12.10 Update notes, we will be ending support for AOS6 with the release of the 12.11 Update due to technical requirements. Those on AOS6 will need to upgrade to a device that supports AOS7 or above to continue playing DomiNations.

I’m guessing legendary items will only be available for $$ and event rewards. I’m also guessing event rewards will have 6% stats while the whales get 11%.

@Manifesto

I actually totally forgot about that and sometimes in the back of my mind I say “Weren’t they going to let you see your stats vs their stats.” It would definitely come in handy just for the University and now with the Museum you’ll have no idea what you’re getting yourself into. Maybe they decided not to do it anymore, who knows :/

Nexon will put out a legendary artifact as the final reward for some event soon. But it will be a different artifact, and even if it's roughly as good as the sale artifact, the whales will still have a big leg up on everyone. Again.

After the museum release, I've hung around enough to give the museum a chance, but after seeing how it's going to work, I've pretty much stopped. It's now obvious that Nexon is determined to make it necessary to pay to enjoy playing. It feels like time to move on to another game, and let the whales fight each other and harvest a bunch of abandoned bases.

I've noticed that after the Museum update the game become laggy...It seems it's not properly optimize now.

Thanks for starting this poll, GJ. I gotta admit, I wasn't sure about the museum at first. But it's quickly growing on me.

It's a clever feature that lets players decide how we want to specialise our base. Do we want to enhance oil raiding or toughen up our cavalry muscle? Most folks play slightly differently so each Museum choice will be individual.

Remember there are only two slots for legendary artefacts, Forgetthis. So the whales will only get some advantage. And they (and the hackers) have always had that.

For the rest of us, we get 2 weapons slots, 2 armor slots, 2 jewellery and 2 pottery slots. Even that can earn upto +80% for any one attack/defense/loot/protection factor. Realistically, it's hard to get two +11% stats through the random number generator, but it's definitely possible to get one +11% and one +1%... that's still +30 to +60% on that stat with the two artefacts that we're allowed.

Imagine playing with +60% hp raiders, +60% damage tanks, +60% oil looting. +60% on your favourite stat, whatever that might be, is game changing.

But it's gonna take time to get there, many weeks to several months. Checking in frequently to collect fragments. Cashing them in every couple of days for artefacts. Ruthlessly throwing out artefacts without some +11s and +6s. To stack up the blueprints. The dock has become much more important. So far as I can see, it's the only way to earn guaranteed museum supplies, benefactors & researchers. Again, all of those expeditions are gonna take time.

But in 6 months or so, there's gonna be a massive gap between serious players and casual gamers... That's a good thing if you can play seriously. But, yes, the casual guys are gonna get rolled over.

Biggest risk is transparency. If anybody ever figures out how to hack Museum artefacts, how to design your own bonus factors, maxed out at +100%, for example. Then we're all screwed. So it's going to become important for Nexon to show us what the enemy artefacts stats were in the replays. Nobody is going to notice that at first. But in 3 months time, when the fastest players have got their raiders onto +60%, fighters onto +60%, or tanks onto +60%, battles are gonna look a little strange. Players won't be happy not knowing why a battle went so weird. Unless they can see the enemy artefact stats. It's also a guard against cheating. But give it a few months, I expect Nexon will have added this to the replays. Like we can see enemy coalitions in world war replays...

Experiment around a bit guys. Give the Museum a chance. I reckon you'll like it if you do

KEEP IT OUT OF WAR, JUST KEEP IT OUT OF WAR. We non-payers or very very limited payers don't need another thing that can give the p2w a huge advantage both offensively and defensively. Not to mention the legendary slot that's just a paid for item.

In terms of MP, it's certainly making the daily grind a bit easier. Reading what artifacts other people have, I feel like I got junk but getting a 6% resource looted jewel is a pretty good to me. I also have a level 2 pot that is 6% increase in vault capacity/6% in interest without any upgrades so that's an extra 1200 - ish per day without doing anything which is always nice. I know it's just the luck of the craft but I seem to be getting all armor pieces and all affecting bombers and mortars which never get used against my base so basically blueprint and craft material.

How much capacity does that add to your vault? Mine appeared to add it's percentage to the base amount (2400), rather than to the library boosted or moctezuma boosted totals. So 6% would only add 144 oil storage capacity.

Not sure how the % interest applies - if you are getting 11% interest (5%+6%), that is a nice little boost of an extra 700 or so per day. Weird how one % can be such a tiny boost and the same percent is a decent boost just based on what it gets applied to.

My vault is currently level 3 as I don't actually know if going higher allows for more oil. The savings chapter in library is maxed and moctezuma is also maxed. My current capacity is 12248. I'll have to look again in 20 hours when I can withdraw the oil but it was over 1k in interest.

I do have another question as it's a little vague to me, what is resource looted refund? I have resource looted increase percentage but there's also refund which I'm not sure what it does. I assumed it's like storage bless in which case I get another 6% back if they raid me. Pleas let me know and thx for the response(s).

Going higher doesn't allow more oil, 3 is the right place to stop. 12248 is 168 more than the maxed previous of 12080, and is a 7% boost instead of 6%. Did you bump the artifact to level 2?

If that interest was over 1000, sounds like it was additive and based on the entire deposit, so that one is not bad.

I think it's like the Koreans, you get back a percentage of what was stolen from you.

I like the museum itself.
i hate the fact that they ruined the dock to make it work.
I maxed the dock on both my accounts and always kept 4 villagers free in order to have at least 1or 2 excursions always going, as it was a great way to always be gaining NTG, peace treaties, blessings, etc.
Then their nerfed all that for the museum stuff, instead of just adding it the museum stuff as a 3rd return item in the excursions, which would have been the simple solution that would have made everyone happy.
But Nexon can never fix/add anything without breaking/ruining something else, because they never think things through from the players perspective.
As a software developer, I am constantly stunned how these devs lucked into a concept that players loved, and have managed to hold onto a player base, despite their colossal poor planning, bad development skills, and constant angering of the fan base.
If they actually had a skilled group of devs and listened to the general consensus and wishes of their fans, this game could as big as Clash of Clans or Boom Beach at their peak.

Everyone was complaining about the long wait times between upgrading etc. Now, we got a new toy to keep us busy to raid and collect fragments and people complain about the whales again. Let whales be whales, we will never compete with them. Do we actually need to? I don't care about whales. I care more about bad war matching and those sandbaggers and wall cheaters.
I like the museum as I got something new to work for, collect 475 fragments via attacks, hope for some gems among the artifacts (so far I collected two decent artifacts - one potentially giving 35% bonus to generals' attack, the other a strong defense boost). Sell the rest for blueprints and insert a few explorations at the shipyard, not as if you need to have so many researchers initially. Blueprints will be the real bottle neck to upgrade your bonuses.

The whales will happily spend $100 for a 5* 11% bonus, but guess what. I got that 3*11%, 1*6% bonus artifact via hard work and it feels a lot more satisfying than buying an item off the shelf. The journey is the fun not the end goal, isn't it?

TinSoldier , I think it's clear the popular 'early' consensus is the museum has potential and gives us some diversity to explore/upgrade or not. Even minor upgrades could be somewhat helpful in the short term.
But I think it's also clear, early on, that the changes to dock is the biggest complaint. Too many unnecessary items (researchers or benefactors or supplies or blueprints, why not 1 or 2?) combined with the low returns, combined with the removal of previous dock items instead of simply adding the museum items, makes the museum much less impressive than it could've been.
Even I, not needing it at CW age, would be more impressed with the museum if it was simply ADDED to the game. Instead, part of it's makeup is that other items have been compromised or swapped.
I've said it a number of times but I'll say it again: why do you have to give with one hand and take away with another? I guarantee it would impress the player base so much more if you simply added something new without a quid-pro-quo.
The museum would've been seen as purely new and interesting content. Unfortunately now it's tainted as something that has spoiled something else.
Who does the marketing for Nexon? Is there anyone that does any marketing for Nexon?
SMH.

I agree. Museum adds interesting content to the game, but it needed to be incorporated without
1. Breaking existing content - in this case expeditions. I gaurantee that most people would have upgraded their docks and completed the shipping library tech, if it’s rewards were what they are now. If NEXON was serious in their live twitch event, I would hope that an update is coming soon, restoring the original expedition rewards and adding museum rewards to the existing expeditions or three new destinations per level where the rewards include Museum Resources, Benefactors and Researchers.
2. Creating bottlenecks - in this case “Museum Resources” resource and blueprints. There already has been a nerf to the blueprints and I personally believe there should be another adjustment - somewhere between 15 and the original vale of 40. I would believe there should be a nerf to the “Museum Resources” shortly. I personally have not seen it in a victory chest, or a daily dock bonus. The only place I have seen it is as a secondary expedition bonus on one expedition.

I don't like that they nerfed the dock and added 5 new resources to work towards and balance. Could have made it just two resources, and changed only a few expeditions at the dock, instead of making it 5 that are all unbalanced.

That is my primary museum complaint - that, and the fact that they plan to include the bonuses in war later. That will take it instantly from "fun mp extra", to "massive pay 2 win". I wasn't too bothered by it until they made that change clear.

I think that the Museum is a very interesting feature that has a lot of potential to add to the game. I like the graphics, the variety of artifacts and how all this works. Any fix, correction or change to something that didn't go as intended should not undervalue the whole concept

Agreed as well, they really didn't have to mess with the dock just to benefit the museum. I used a lot of the secondary items from the expeditions and it as all planned out otherwise I would've had upgraded dock to max level in the first place. What is annoying as well are the researchers and benefactors. What is the point in adding those items when it requires at least level 4 museum and a lot of players can't get to that point as it's a global requirement. So yet again someone starting much later in the dominations gameplay is getting screwed again.

The hardest item to get as far as I've seen is the artifacts. The blueprints aren't that easy to get but if you play and raid a lot you will craft a lot of items and sell a lot of items and eventually you will get some blueprints. The artifacts have only come from expeditions where you actually get lucky if there's even that option. All I ever see is researchers and benefactors, In victory chest I have gotten researchers once which I don't need.

I withdrew the oil and starting at 12248, the amount I removed after interest was 13840 and the amount I got back for interest was 1592. 13% interest return which sounds right. 8% interest added because of pottery and I guess originally you get 5%.

The introduction of the museum doesn't undervalue the museum. Just the opposite.
The problem is, imo, it does leave a bad taste in the proverbial mouth for the other things that have been affected.
But that's just my opinion. Maybe I'll learn to chew slower to try and savour the new flavour. :D
