Perhaps so. Then maybe things that are already within the game's code? Like reduced training times/increased range on____ units. Or faster rally cooldown/longer rally times. Essentially being able to create hybrid nation powers? As long as it stayed strictly for multiplayer that would be pretty cool.

Museum might make life easier for ww participatans if they willing to collect +NTG bonuses (or at least have some kind of +NTG artifacts set for emergency) because it is reduces GRIND required to participate at WW at full power.

Right now museum do not force you to do anything, it is a sweet FREE bonuses for the very same gameplay we have already. Right now it is PURE GAIN.

Dock rewards revamp is a minor issue, massive boost to the game economy outweights it by far margin.

Defensive/Offensive Artifact meta is not existant right now. I expect that the most popular defense artifacts traits would be against fighters (less attack power/ less health). It might shift game meta for other planes which might not be bad at all.

Yes, and how will you feel when relics apply to war, and there is a relic that gives +40% general health, +40% general damage, and reduce your defensive spawn time by 20%....and that relic is only available by spending $100+ only haha. Your coals wont make you feel like youre at full power anymore, thats for sure :)

Im fine with museum as it is right now, but if they actually do apply it to war, its terrible for the game the way they've monetized it.

I'm unhappy that they took things away at the dock, even if it isn't cards. Some of the things, sure, take them. But the peace treaty / army combo from the san francisco run was great, now it is an army and some researchers.

As far as the artifacts themselves, I have "crafted" a few dozen of them. None of them even close to worthwhile to start upgrading, or even display in their initial state. It is an RNG crapshoot, and will be very annoying to participate in. Especially given the stinginess of the rewards - attacking one age down is worth no more than 10 shards for a five star, even if they have a maxed defense for the age. In AA, that means minimal rewards from some very tough global ages at a decent medal count, or a strong incentive to drop down in medals and HT raid at the bottom.

Nothing changes for me. I am not either rich enough or stupid enough to play Pay2Win game full of cheaters competitive.

I guess to me that seems contrary to what you stated in your last post about it making life easier in war.

Participate in ww and being competitive in ww are different stories. My alliance do not have any fighting chance against any alliance which fill their strongholds with paid cards. So why should I care if such alliances also buy some Imbalanced artifacts?

It is nice to have a good fight once a while and being prepared for it. But I don’t care about glory points or match making in this game.

I just got an item that starts with +6% and +11% General damage. Ok the rest isn't as awesome as from that $100 item, but it comes with +6% raider hitpoints and -6% defender spawn time (+1% heavy cavalry HP). I think this item is pretty awesome considering it was free.

After playing with it I found it to be completely unnecessary to the game. Its strictly a major last minute cash grab for the game that is by all definitions a dead game.

The museum only serves to over complicate the game.

Availability of supplies is a major problem for upgrading these things. Won't matter to those who are just gonna crown everything, but for the rest of us it's a problem. The only reliable way to get supplies is through expeditions, which will take a long, long time.

I’m wondering how the heck is anyone suppose to get 2,800 supplies to unlock all 5 perks for 1 item. This is an insane amount.

Basically, when you generate an artifact, assume that the last 2-3 levels will never be unlocked, and that you will only upgrade each item to level 2 (blueprint cost goes up dramatically after that). Maybe it will be different if you get an exceptional artifact, but for most with a good bonus at level 1 you are getting 50% of the total value immediately, while bypassing 99% of the outrageous costs.

Nexon could’ve made collecting items or upgrading artifacts fun, instead of the usual play, send, or buy options.
They could’ve been the rewards from the usual daily quests, which were getting to be the same boring, repeated quests, with the same boring 1 or 2 crown rewards.
Or they could implemented exactly what they’ve done but without any ‘pay’ element. Wouldn’t THAT have been a hoot!

I like yemen's advice a lot and would add:

-Resist the temptation to hurriedly grind and craft single artifacts for 100 fragments. After a few disappointing rounds you'll want to find ways to reduce this process to crafting five or ten artifacts maybe once a day and moving on.

-Quickly decide when an artifact isn't worth investing in and sell it for blueprints and fragments.

So far I have:
+7% oil production from wells
+2% oil from looting
+2% fighter hitpoints

Those last two are obviously small but it's also the early going so meh.

I sold the rest, including whatever Armor artifacts I happened to get. The fragments and blueprints seem like they are worth more than just having every slot filled.

Interesting that the perks associated with a artifact are not consistent either. I have With artifact I have two gladius each with their own set of perks:
one starts with +6% paratrooper bonus, followed by +1% ranged siege hitpoints.
Two starts with +6% supply truck bonus followed by +1 raider hitpoints.

Wonder if if this was a nerf or the way it is going to be....

So far, it is the ones available for sale. Like that augustus Cuirass they are selling right now. Hopefully there will be more opportunities to get them for free at some point. But they are either extremely rare or completely non-existent as crafted items.

The way I’ve been recently going about it is trying to get artifacts with 6% in the first 1-2 slots of the artifact that way I don’t have to upgrade it much. Then I’ll equip those and save up to try and get an 11% in the first 1 or 2 slots. If I get a really good 11% somewhere in slots 4-5 I might keep it for later but won’t be upgrading it anytime soon until I get the same stat in the first or second slot.

I got pretty lucky and rolled a All loot collected increased by 6% and upgraded it to 7% so I’ll be leaving that one on for a while unless I get an 11% in the first or second slot but highly doubt it right now. I’ll sell any 1%s or useless 6%s for blueprints.

Whatever happened to the ability to see all your dps/hp stats vs your oponents stats, they were talking about previously?
Surely that would come in handy with the many varied museum stats.

@Wynne,
this is the right strategy I believe. I'd say, don't upgrade beyond extra +1% (that's still pretty cheap) unless you are certain to keep that item for a long time. I was lucky to get this 6/11/6/6/1 item where the first 6/11% slots apply to generals' damage, which to me, looks pretty powerful. I should be able to unlock the second bonus of 11% soon giving me 9+11 = 20% bonus for generals' damage.
Other items will be kept for quick and simple bonuses such as oil loot 6% etc. However, I think, any long term item would have to have multiple 6 or11% bonuses to be worthwhile keeping. Sell the rest for blueprints to upgrade the useful stats (as I did from 6 to 9% costing 1250 blueprints)

I think its a great idea poorly implemented. Making expeditions a necessary part of farming is smart, but there was already a shortage of workers. The artifacts are nice, but the developers broke a cardinal rule of the F2P model. You don’t give whales gear that’s impossible for everyone else to get. That was just an incredibly stupid move. They should have allowed them to simply speed up the process. Anyone who has farmed any number of artifacts can plainly see getting something like Caesar’s armor for free is probably impossible. And when you consider the fact they’ll be selling something like that once per week or once every few weeks, you can clearly see a dying game with a shrinking base of players.
