As DomiNations has continued to grow over the years, so has the amount of time and dedication it takes to progress to the heart of the game. With this in mind, we are continuously looking for ways to improve the experience for both new and longstanding players alike.
With DomiNations Update 12.1, we're implementing a series of changes aimed at helping players progress faster and more efficiently, at all stages of the game.

As a new player, it doesn't take very long to start running into timers that halt progression. We'd like to make it easier for new players to get even further into the game before experiencing the weight of longer build times. A lot of fun content unlocks early on, and this should allow new players to sink their teeth into more as they are just starting out.

For established, experienced players, it becomes quite easy to run out of ways to interact with your base as Citizens can sometimes be tied up on upgrades for weeks at a time. In addition to timer reductions, we’ve also reduced the Citizen requirements across some of your daily interactions. With those aspects combined, we aim to ensure players can have more frequent opportunities to manage and advance their town.





Time Reductions:
  • Build Time Reduction- (includes ALL Buildings except Wonders)
    • Dawn Age to Gunpowder Age 95% Reduction
    • Enlightenment Age 90% Reduction
    • Industrial Age 80% Reduction
    • Global Age 35% Reduction
    • Atomic Age to Digital Age 20% Reduction
    • Information Age to Drone Age 10% Reduction
  • Research Time Reduction- (includes ONLY Troops, Tactics, Aircraft, and Factory. Generals and Coalitions will remain the same.)
    • Dawn Age to Iron Age 75% Reduction
    • Classical Age and Medieval Age 60% Reduction
    • Gunpowder Age and Enlightenment 50% Reduction
    • Industrial Age 35% Reduction
    • Global Age 25% Reduction
    • Atomic Age 10% Reduction

Citizen Requirement Reductions:
  • Forest Clearing - 2 Citizens
  • Hunt ANY Animal - 1 Citizen
  • Fruit Trees and Gold Mines - 1 Citizen
  • ALL Expeditions - 1 Citizen
    • Stacks with Library Research will reduce Citizen requirement to 0 if ‘Shipping’ Level 5 is researched
  • Wonder Construction - 4 Citizens
  • Castle Upgrades - 4 Citizens
  • Town Hall Upgrades - 4 Citizens


Increased Resource Shipments
A series of new Resource Shipment chest will become available. You’ll find these chests as apart of Quest Event rewards, Marco Polo exchanges, and more. These Resource Shipment chests will offer a guaranteed total between their small, medium, and large versions that you can grab to fill resources at a cheaper rate!



These changes will take place as soon as we release the 12.1 Update shortly! With these changes, we hope to see many DomiNations players reaching their goals faster, and encouraging more advanced players to be able to find their place competitively in World Wars. As of 12/4/23 3:46 PM EST a fix went out to cover the following:

  • Fixed the issue where one Gold Mine still required 2 Villagers
  • Swapping a Wonder requires only 4 Villagers

I cannot believe what I 'm reading! I never thought I would live to see the day BHG reduces the upgrade time. NEVER!
And yet they did it and I am very happy for it. I was expecting to come over here and see people hugging, kissing, endless beer contests and fireworks !!


And all I see is complaints? what???

I paid real money for my high level accounts to buy speedups and crowns. Did I get what I wanted? YES!
Did I use those bought resources to speed up my base/unit upgrades? YES!
Is the exchange fair? YES!
Then what right do we have to request anything ?

What is the age that most people stop playing? Industria/globall! When the upgrade times skyrocket.
Is the game experiencing a reduced number of players after global age? YES!
How many reach info age and beyond? Less than 10% maybe?

So you guys see that the game needs this change ASAP! If we had it earlier then maybe we would have more players.
The mentality that just because we suffered for 15-20 days upgrading, everyone else must experience forever the same suffering is completely nuts!
I for once, I am super happy and optimistic for this and do not care that I won't enjoy any of this benefit as both accounts are 400+. It will help the game progress for everyone else and that is good as we need more players to the top.
We are looking at the tree and miss the forest behind...
This is EXACTLY how I feel. I wasn't the biggest spender in the game, but I reached VIP Level 7 in 4 bases. To progress at a reasonable pace, I felt it was necessary to spend money. It was frustrating. I stepped away from the game for almost two years.

I am DELIGHTED that BHG is reducing some upgrade times. I don't care that people today will have a cheaper path to reaching the level I got to. Good for them. The game is improved. That's great!
 
Very good and much appreciated! Would be even better if you add a third armory slot and reduce the citizen requirement to update garrisons and tank depots back to 4 citizens in advanced ages. But thank you for listening to feedback!
I'd like that to, but I am happy to imagine that BGH is making incremental changes. After they see what impact 12.1 has on the game, they can evaluate other possible improvements. What they've done today feels pretty radical.
 
My biggest wish is to reduce the XP requirements for advancement to higher eras. To get from Space to Digital, I have had to upgrade things that don't need upgrading. To go from Digital to Information, I'll have to upgrade many many buildings that I don't need, don't want, things that will unnecessarily drive up my war weight, and that I will build only to get the million-plus points of XP needed to advance from level 260 to 300. Keeping the upgrade requirement down to 30 XP-levels would be a big improvement.
 
Wonder Construction - 4 Citizens
Hello, for the construction of wonders, it requires 4 citizens, but when replacing wonders above the industrial age, it still requires 8-10 citizens. Will this be reduced to 4 citizens?
 
Such a great upgrade for the overall good of the game !!! For automation age players who are complaining ( & I will be automation age next month I hope) I also spent money but keep in mind that this raised also VIP level( which its rewards now is bad but also can be improved hopefully in the future) also most of speed ups bundled with events for additional rewards & the speed up you now automation age which made you have 2 additional slot in the new building immediately which is massive , if u didn’t use speed ups there is no way you would made it to automation which means u were going to start spending now anyway …

Nicely said! This update was much needed to make sure the Drone/Auto pool becomes bigger!

What is the point of having a fancy massive base when there are not enough players to go to war with?!

Well I earned my account either with my play time or with my hard earned money.

I get the idea of having bigger player base in higher age group and I get all the benefits y’all saying.

I still see it going like this they devalued every older account. To produce more info and above players in theory sounds great. Well I see bunch of old player making quick lightweight strikers at less then half price and rest of the new players being little fishes in big pound that have poor university and will either have to spend massively or get gobbled up by big fish.

So i yea I get every praise y’all have said. I like 0 citizens for expedition, 1 for animals, and most of what was added. But I do not agree with reducing the value of older accounts without compensation. Yea I sound like a crybaby or a Karen. In the end this leaves myself and I am sure others feeling ripped off.

With the new time reductions, upgrading will obviously be a big help to progress so they should keep some aspects of the process a challenge. Any building you think is unnecessary to upgrade will only have a positive effect on your base once upgraded, yeah?
We just got a pretty big cake - might as well eat it too. :D

Personally, l don't see how your base is devalued. It's still as strong as it was yesterday, it's still able to take out other bases - this change hasn't changed your base in any way. If you chose to pay all those years ago - and ended up with an awesome base - then you got value for money.
Besides, in a few months there'll be an even bigger pool of inexperienced players for you to plunder. That can't be a bad thing. 😁

as many have said a flat time reduction of 50% across the board, a time cap of 10 days or so.

but what could spice them up is every weekly discount event the percentage in price reduction be given equal time reduction (ie where everythings 20% off also get 20% time cuts to benefit all)
