A slight rework of dock

tl;dr - add a "favourites" slot on dock, where we can choose certain expeditions to be available even after upgrading it..

Let's face it.. Dock level 13 kinda sucks, and everyone who has upgraded it either regrets it or wants it to be levelled down and I sympathize with them because sending 4 citizens for 2 days to get one infantry TT isnt the brightest idea

But I also side with BHG that levelling down someone's dock will cause more issues like XP rollback and on-going expeditions, and while there is an idea to just give out a lvl 14 dock with better expeditions it doesnt solve the problem long term as the meta will change and when in does the those lvl 14 expeditions would become worthless again, then there are people who prefer certain expeditions like Air Superiority, or Zero, or some Museum pieces there is no way to make everyone happy with the current way the dock is..

So I am here to suggest a middle ground: A Favorites slot.. How does it work?
Well its a 4th slot you can unlock after level 10 (you get extra slot on lvl 1, 4 and 7 so its fitting to add another at lvl 10) and its a little different as you get to choose and change what expeditions you want in the favorites slot..

Lets say you can choose 3-4 expeditions at a time.. (if less than 4 chosen, remainig are randomly filled) These expeditions are the ones have unlocked at any time in game and when you add these expeditions to your favorites list they become available at your 4th slot and have a cycle of their own.. so every 24 hours the next favorite expedition there and if you send citizens on a favorite expedition, upon completion of that expedition the next one available and just like regular dock if you finish all the 3-4 favorites expeditions you have to wait for the 24 hour mark for them to be available again..

I feel like it'll be a nice little QOL upgrade and it will allow a lot more utility of Dock and also motivate players to not stop at a particular level just for that one good expedition they like..

hell yes !! this is a great idea worthy of being implemented. Those of us that have upgraded at level 13 without knowing the expeditions in advance have found ourselves at a big disadvantage as the previous TTs are not available anymore and the expeditions are lengthier now.

100% agree; higher level of any building should offer better perks; not the other way around.

Edit: I bet folks will be ready to spend 1000 crown to unlock the favorite expedition slot; win-win for BHG & Players.

One note: Even if Level 14 dock was awesome, it's not a solution as a Level 14 dock loses Level 12 expeditions... so one still suffers by seeing the Level 13 expeditions with a Level 14 dock. That said, please add a Level 14 (Drone) dock

Thats a pretty cool idea, I like your middle ground. I can't make any promises but I did forward to the team earlier this week. But as the conversation has continued in this thread one question I do have to better break this down, are there specific Expeditions everyone is looking for? Or perhaps just be able to select specific expedition rewards to repeat?

A level 13 dock analysis:

• Good: NTGs, which are a pain to gather so it helps a little so it was a nice idea
• Bad: All two-day expeditions, a lot considering other levels offer 6 hour expeditions
• Bad: The troop tactics aren't useful to anyone having a level 13 dock

The level 13 downsides are compounded by it losing level 11 expeditions which offers useful troop tactics and a Supplies expedition, which level 13 lacks.

I doubt you'll find time/resources to add a feature like custom expedition slots (I could be wrong of course), so I encourage people also also offer simpler alternative solutions such as:

• Change the level 13 dock expeditions; long ago the dock was reworked so folks would no longer stay at level 6 or 7 for Supplies, so there's precedent here; changes would include modifying some of the level 13 TTs to increase variety, and decrease expedition time, and alter number of citizens required for some
• Add a level 14 dock
• Improve the bonus (via General) results, I'm not yet sure how -- maybe remove resource bonuses and give fancy chests instead

As for which expeditions/rewards, personally I'd love to revert from 13 to 12 so I can access the level 11 expeditions, namely the
Wall Breacher Army.

Yes to both the questions..
1) There are certain expeditions like Shanghai (1 Wall Breaker Army + 9000 oil) or Tulum (2 Zero + 55 Researchers) which everyone wants..

2) But also there are expeditions like Zanzibar (1 Peace Treaty + 12 Researchers), Melbourne (2 Air Superiority Blessing + 30 supplies), New York (6 NTG Shipments + 170 Researchers), Dubrovnik (1 Armored Assault Army + 30 Benefactors) which are not as popular as the 2 I mentioned above but there are a good lot of players who stop upgrading their Dock after a certain level just because they dont want to lose that one expedition.. so the favourite slot would allow them to upgrade or max their dock every age but still have the option of repeating/having few of their favourite expeditions..

I like the suggestion of making other expeditions available in another slot (unlocked by crowns would be fine). I personally find the Aerial Strike Army fun to use from Berlin. For me I use the dock to help gather museum supplies but it would be great if we could use the general slot with a set shipment of NTGs instead of the random resources.
