This is screenshot of our current enemy's #13 on the war roster of a 15 vs 15.
.

I've noticed more and more of this. A very strong top 5 that way outpower our top five, and a incredibly weak bottom five. In 15 on 15 that means that they can be assured of a win. Their top 5 can get 45-50 stars against our top 10 and our top five has difficulty getting 10 or so stars against their top 5. Even if our top 5 gets 25 on their 6-10 we still need to make up 10-15 stars on their bottom 5, which isn't going to happen.

EDIT: And often their bottom 5 don't even attack. Just used to "average" out the teams.

Small wars are easy to skew with this strategy. Once you start doing 35-45 man wars, it usually doesnt happen or backfires. I know its not an option for everyone, but its a compelling reason to do larger sized wars IMO.

*Retracting my statement, as the top current alli in glory has perfected this embarrassing strategy lol. We dont see it much in 40v40+ but it is for sure possible.

For what it's worth, I can state with confidence that it works very well at 35, 40, 45 (and over a large sample size of six months or so)...

Yeah, USA Dankness puts the lie to the idea that this can't work on larger wars. The only question is if they will have to start to face alliances based on their glory rather than their "level".

We've been preparing for that possibility; we know that at least one formerly top 10 alliance has instructed all of its players, in all five of its affiliated aliances, to complain to Nexon to make changes to the leaderboard structure. I can only imagine that the others are doing the same while they also scramble to adapt their rosters seven months later than they should have.

Lately, the matching has become more and more difficult to understand. How can 4 Global and 6 IA match up against 1 Global, 4 IA, and 5 EA? Either it is a simple random matching or there are lesser alliances going to war in the game.

Easy as pie to figure out when you see an industrial running all classic age defenses :) it isn't the age, it the strength of the base.

Listing ages does nothing for me, ya gotta tell me if that global has global buildings and troops. Again, it's not the age but the strength of the base. Example: I'm gunpowder yet in VZ there are enlightenment bases weaker than I so they are ranked below me.

If they scramble**

Some alliances aren't cowards and look forward to meeting these cheapskates on the field of war.

Win or lose.

It is called integrity. Get some.

I call them "dummy bases" is that what you have to do to crack top 100? IE.. Make weak bases to allow mismatches? Seems very unethical to me..

No sir, we have no dummy bases here at VZ yet we were on the top 25 well over a week till we just warred twice in a row with Danky to launch them into the top spot. It does take knowledge of how to attack and a good group to coordinate though ;-] it was our first go at 40vs40. We now know and understand what we need to do when we make a stab at another 40;-]

I would guess no. Since Universities came out I have had two tracks constantly going in the University (As well as using my other workers on other buildings). In that time I went from 3rd place in my alliance war lineup to 6th. My guess is that they aren't using University upgrades in the calculation.

In the last 30ish 20 player wars we have had quite a spread of high and low medalled opponents. The tougher ones always come with a higher victory reward point bonus, the lower medalled generally only 100ish points. The matchups seem pretty good to me, so don't sweat the one offs, they're always going to be there.

Don't sweat it DomiNators, if your alliance isn't stacking (sandbagging) it's not cracking the top so just have fun when ya can. Want Nexon to fix it? Then you gonna have to suck it up and not war. Otherwise its just going to continue just like it running today.

Party on Garth!!!
