Won't let me join an alliance for a strange reason....

I fixed the alliance gate and was going to join an alliance. I clicked join on "the legends". It won't let me do anything with it. If you look down the list of alliance members, I'm on it. But when I go to the little alliance tab on the side, it says I'm not in any alliance. I can't leave the one I'm supposedly in, but I can't join an alliance because it says I'm already in one....when I'm not...how do I fix this?

The little tab on the side just says that I'm not in an alliance

Becca that happened to me when I first started and I deleted the app and reinstalled and it fixed it. Make sure your base is backed up through Gamecenter or google play so that you don't lose your progress. Good luck!
