Why does it take workers to open shipments?

I have some NTG shipments that (maybe) would provide me with cheese for my current war. Of course it takes a free worker which I don't have just to open it. Why?

More to the point, you should provide us with a merc/blessing that provides us with 2 temporary workers for an hour. This will allow us to do all the inane things that pile up, yet never take fewer workers no matter how advanced we are. You know, hunt, mine, wall build, pick fruit, OPEN SHIPMENTS.

It's been said before: but the way this game's lack of workers and lengthy build times actively encourage you not to play for days at a stretch is mind-boggling.

Sounds good to me. Make it cost like 3 or 4 diamonds, too -- I need something to spend my endless stash of diamonds on other than oil shipments.

Maybe have a single worker cost 1 leather/fur and 1 diamond for an hour. Then have the option of buying up to six if the bears are getting on your nerves?

This is a great idea, I dont use mercs hardly at all because i never have the resources to retrain them because i cant hunt/gather/mine.

With that said, i actually upgrade in a way that i always have 1 worker free. I do this so i can grind the walls during long build times. Im also able to hunt some rabbits as well.

Its also pretty damn annoying to not have the ability to hunt when you have a 2 day timed quest for hunting 80 animals or something like that. Im not going to spend 100's of crowns to make workers available for 3 crowns i get for the quest.
