What's up with the walls and gates in edit mode?

What's up with the layout of walls and roads in this game? Iv spent hours trying to build a base but the walls and gates will not work to finish off a perimeter around a building....doesn't make any sense at all because I completed the exact same layout on another part of my base.....it has to be the most annoying thing about this game.....can't complete a base design because of it.....anyone else having this issue?

I had the same problem and I don't know if it's a fix of if I coincidentally got it to unglitch. What I did was I went back into the map editor removed all buildings and then exited without saving. When I returned to my village, my roads and walls connected just how I wanted them to.
