In the stone age, the troops had clubs.
In Iron age they had swords.
In gunpowder age they had gunpowder.
In Industrial age there was oil.
In Global age there was better weapons.
In Atomic age, where's the atom bomb? Or anything remotely Atomic?
Sure, we have the Atomium, but in real life this is a museum, even with a restaurant! Can't we have an atomic bomb? Maybe it takes 7 days to build and it destroys 60% of a base, but it uses 50% of your troop space? And costs10million gold and food? And uses more resources so your caravans, farms, oil wells produce at a reduced rate?
Give us something 'atomic' from the Atomic era!

Who need Atomic bomb when you can have Bazooka Tower, Fire-Breathing Bunnies and Holy Grenade?! Why build nukes when you can buy it online? And are you sure you want to lock 50% of your troop space for 7 days!

I'd like to see something that puts out a little more smoke into the cityscape, like the power plant. Perhaps you could upgrade it to a nuclear power plant. I really liked the power plant, I think it should be there all the time.

I meant if/when you want to add the atomic bomb to your troop inventory it will take up that troop amount.
While it's cooking you can still play normally with your regular troop compliment.
I'd also be happy with holy grenades! :D

Remember when the game's loading screen has a mushroom cloud in the centerpiece between all the wonders and those people staring at each other instead of a sun? That was changed for reasons of sensitivity. Same reason a few things in Fallout 3 had to be outright changed (like how blowing up Megaton's bomb quest is outright removed) to be sold in Japan. Makes sense though honestly, considering Japan's history -- nuclear bombs is a highly sensitive subject to them. I hope that isn't taken the wrong way. I wonder how or if Dominations will even touch the subject matter of using atomic weapons against other nations, especially when Japan is a nation in the game.

Maybe Japan can have an Atomic bomb peace treaty? If it's displaying this type of peace treaty you can't use an A bomb on it, just the regular troops?

The idea of a Nuclear variant of the Power Plant is a solid idea! I know many folks (myself included) really liked the Power Plant.

JMoney has the correct insight. There have been certain aspects that have been delicately handled in the game.
So, instead of speaking to that, I can provide an insight about the development of the Atomic Age.
When you age up, there is always an Emissary that travels from nearby to provide you with Food & Gold as tribute for your accomplishment. When the Atomic Age was added, the Emissary never appeared during playtesting. It gave me the most unsettling feeling the more I thought about it. Had my neighboring kingdoms already entered the Atomic Age and it proved to be the ruin of the civilization? Did they now fear me and--what was once a peaceful neighbor--now prepares for war? Is the outside world a desolate wasteland?

The issue was corrected, and the missing Emissary returns as he does in other ages when you reach the Atomic Age now. It was just fascinating that such a small change felt so much narrative weight.

Soooo, does that mean the Emissary will come to all the Atomic bases that he/she never visited before? :)
Is there a way to reach the Emissary, to invite him/her to a special ''dignitaries ball'' we can hold in his/her honour?

I completely understand the political ramifications, etc, but this is a game. Sometimes political correctness can be overblown.
''IF'' Nexon releases an Atomic bomb upgrade and people use it on Japanese towns, it's not an indication that Nexon condones the attacking of Japan in WW2!
Sometimes we need to simmer down and play the game! :D

If so, we might need to add an event building for a Tailor and Dressmaker so all of the citizens look their best!

Civilization, considered by many including myself as the best strategy games of all time, had atomic bomb. This did not prevent it to sold millions of copies.

All you have to do is combine Demolition with barrage and balance it. Hardly anyone uses those two tactics anyways so maybe combine them in AA? Demolition already has mushroom cloud effect so you won't even have to change much anyways.

I'm going to go out of character and share some of my insight that I've gained from working around the world... Some features/content/story-line can be like walking on eggshells, more so if you want a certain region or partner to adopt the product. This, in no way represents what Nexon see's as the vision for Atomic age, I'm just going off player comments and adding what I've seen. It's not always as cut and dry as one may think.

As a fan of Civ, it's hard to judge how some may react to certain game elements. I've seen backlash on many major titles...even...you know...CoD. I've always been of mind that Civ has hardcore fans that line up for the next release, myself being one of them. In the end, I feel it comes down to balance and if the feature makes sense in the game's ecosystem.

Again, this is just my personal opinion, nothing more, nothing less. Feel free to hit me up via PM or my twitter Nb4powerup if you'd like to discuss more :)

If atomic bombs are added Japan will automatically become the best nation out there then!

Even better than the Brits

Also some history, Nevada has had more Nukes detonated in it than Japan

but those were only tests...
