For me I am going for Leaders who reduce citizen cost & time. I have completed the 2 you mentioned. Sejong is my next priority. But honestly they all are lengthy & require citizens, which mine are always maxed...get whatever you can do now!

I also finished the 2, now I continue focusing on leonard, I use often my HT mk3 during WW and thus leornard is a good choice (but very long and it needs more and more workers ...)

I would prioritize researching under leaders that prioritize offensive upgrades such as Leonardo Da Vinci and King Sejong.

After finishing Mansa and Hiawatha I have generally put most of my workers in the University. I currently have 11 researching. But If I were to try and suggest how to prioritize I would want to know which Barrack attack troops you use the most when you play. Then work on the branch in the University that improves those, so if you mostly use Artillery the long road along da Vinci may be best, if you mostly use infantry the short road for Catherine would be my suggestion.

I do plenty of raiding using infantry & raiders (Romans). Probably look at Catherine.

Sejong is my choice mainly. First tier only 'costs' 2 citizens and I got all of them to at least lvl 5 so that I can continue with 2nd tier. My first bigger aim here is protect tactic, which is his 3rd tier research with (I guess) 4 citizens. A 30% to protect tactic time would be a great boost and I estimate that it would last for 1min if fully upgraded. I could then use my second protect tactic for something else, maybe.

Of course, the ultimate goal would be to fully upgrade Sejong for the 1 citizen research reduction. Being at 22/100 though, I estimate, it would take years to finish.

I've done both already and currently working on all of them at the same time. I'm putting everything else on hold til I finish another. Usually I'm left with 2-3 citizen to get the essentials. Luckily the bear usually doesn't appear until right after I'm short of citizens. I'm a high level global so I've got most of my upgrades in already and only left with a few more and forest to do before I move up.

I originally gave myself 2 months to finish university but it turns out it would take at least that much longer to get there.

You should have workers upgrading saladin constantly. No matter what. Boosted tanks, walls and gate, and 25% faster spawn in the same leader is super unbalanced. All top players recognized this and are taking advantage of it.

Pursuing a single leader is not always the best strategy. Each leader has research for attack and defense. Better to research from several leaders, focusing on either attack or defense research, depending on what's important to you.

Are you still prioritizing Sejong, or does the change in Tactics make a difference in your strategy?

Thanks

In fact with the reduction of tactics that you can use, I see the extension of protect duration all the more critical. I am three upgrades away from starting protect time extension, so I am going to go for that while maybe starting on Amelia. Her boosts are pretty expensive, so maybe a combination of Sejong research for the protect and a more ad-hoc upgrading of Amelia's tree.
