zuko, tun szu and hannibal why 3? zuko uses a duckin bazooka basically are of effect-splash damage, tun szu (only after researching) has great bonuses and great benefits to himself, hannibal for huge health and continuous elephants 🤗

And for defense? The same? I have Alexander, Joan of arc and Hannibal as defensive player..

And which generals are good pre-space age, besides for Hannibal?
Churchill is the first "Well gosh, this is a good General, think I'll focus on him; and people won't make fun of me in the future." general and available at Global Age.

So what's my 3rd general besides Hannibal and Churchill?

Napolean is decent in early game, as he has the longer range. In most General vs. General fights, it's all about who gets the first shots in. For end game, you should ditch Napolean for one of the other suggestions listed above.

I would personally rank the generals as follows from best to worst:
1. Zhukov (area effect damage and airborne which causes some units to don't prioritise him)
2. Sun Tzu (special ability when researched)
3. Petra Herrera (suppresion to defenders)
4. Hannibal (lots of HP and spawning elephants; downside: he is melee)
5. Churchill (good balance between damage and HP)
6. Napoleon (longer range)
7. Björn Ironside (ability to get National trade goods; downside; melee, less damage to generals and cost lots of $ to upgrade)
The rest I find less good as they have no special ability, and would not waist too many ressources on upgrading to high levels.

I agree with 1 to 4.
But I wouldn't upgrade other generals. Instead, save your time; upgrade your troops, planes, tactics; avoid the unnecessary XP (war weight).
Level up, unlock generals 1-4 and upgrade only those.
I agree it is not worth bringing the other to high levels. Its just because someone asked for pre space age generals, and there Napoleon and Churchill are the best IMO.

For attack I use Zhukov, Sun tzu, and the third depends on the base I’m hitting. If I need a gen to take the target of the silo then I’ll use Hannibal over his high hp. If I’m not worried about the silo I’ll use Petra. On defense I use Napoleon, Churchill, Sun tzu and Zhukov. I have the fourth in the pentagon. So the generals I have I’ve maxed out Zhukov and Sun tzu to 110. Also my other 2 ( chosen defending generals) Churchill and Napoleon. Petra and Hannibal I’ve kept at 109 so they don’t show up on defense. Some generals work a bit better on defense than attack. Being able to shoot over walls. Not be able to get through walls. Petra on defense is normally the first to die

Agree with all (most) of the above and would add:
I wish I had not levelled up some of the lesser Generals early on.
They really do add to War Weight.

Once done though they can be used to get better bonuses from Expeditions:
"It is important to note that the rewards from the bonus chest on expeditions get better chances of good rewards if using a high level general. The threshold levels for said general levels are as follows:
1, 3, 11, 21, 31, 61"

When defending you would have to include Petra Herrera simply due to speed and the way attackers can be slowed down.

Have to disagree with you there. In my experience Petra is useless on defense. He gets to attacker deployment zone too quick and dies before any back up is there. Especially since they made such a large zone to activate the gens from fort.

Isn't Petra the only general who suppresses the enemy much like machine gunners do? To me as an attacker it's probably the most annoying general due to this.

Once he spawns he’s too fast to the enemy. If Petra was a little bit slower Petra would be better for defense. On attack Petra works well for the mbt forrest defenders and incoming hoards etc. a lot of times it comes down to how and when you deploy on offense

To be honest I rarely deploy Petra when attacking but I thought that this general's high speed was a bonus when defending as attackers would be taken on more quickly, and because of this stalled early on?
