Reducing factor for construction and research times depending on the level of development and Age

Hello BHG!

Why not introduce a reduction factor for of construction and research times, depending on the level of development and Age?

In any Age, the construction of any structure or any research takes the same time - residents are distracted for a long time. The construction time is already prohibitive - a week or more, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s the Stone Age or the Cosmic Age.

It would be logical to introduce a reduction factor for time. I will explain using a simple and understandable example from real life. For example, making a metal tool in the Stone Age seems almost impossible and, accordingly, very time-consuming, but already in the Industrial Age such tools are made on an assembly line and it takes very much less time.

The Age and level of development in themselves suggest that the player is actively playing and developing, so why not provide the opportunity to more quickly “bring up to the level” structures or technologies that are lagging behind in development? We are not talking about reducing the time for advanced, so to speak, technologies and structures - let “breakthrough” technologies remain just as difficult to access in time.

I understand your interest in players staying longer in the game, but a situation arises when all the residents are busy with research or construction, and at this time there is practically nothing to do in the game, it becomes uninteresting - progress slows down very much. This factor, on the contrary, reduces interest in the game. Quite quickly you get tired of fighting at the same level, when during the attack there are a lot of resources, and there is simply nowhere to spend them, because... all residents are occupied for a long time. Fighting just to build powerful walls is a very dubious pleasure.

It would be possible to introduce a reduction factor for time depending on the Age and Level of development of the city. There should be constant, tangible progress in the game. It is a matter of your imagination what future developments to propose for cities and civilizations.

Please think about this.

P.S. I ask the players who have been in the game for a long time, who have spent a huge amount of time in such expectations, not to be upset... But the game should develop and be more interesting.

Do not implement this. The only thing I've read here is that development in older age groups is slightly faster than in younger age groups. This ensures that older accounts progress faster than younger accounts. This is counterproductive as it tends to widen the gap between older accounts and younger players.
Actually this is a good point. Could somewhat dilute the reductions in upgrade times (for lower ages) that was recently introduced.

目を開ければ道が見つかるでしょう。 マルチプレイヤーと戦争博物館の両方を備えています。
O enlightened one, reveal the truth to me! So how can I invest resources directly into the Museum? No need for lengthy phrases, just specifics, please.

That's right! This idea helps to smooth out the improvement process to some extent. Now the situation is such that the younger ages very quickly reach older ages and also freeze at a “dead point” - very long waits of improvements, and then few people progress noticeably. This idea is also aimed at the fact that if you are actively developing, then this is an additional little help, and if you are lazy, then nothing will change for you.

And this idea, I repeat, makes the development process closer to as it is in real life.

@nobodyknowsthetrouble, your ideas of equalizing everyone using various restrictions are more suitable for lazy players - you can do nothing, and you still won’t fall far behind others. You have long been “hit the wall” in your opinions and reasoning, you don’t notice and don’t want to notice anything around you, you simply resist any progress in the game.

Very often I hear the opinion that this game is a marathon. Yes, I absolutely agree that it wouldn't be fun to quickly end all this fun gameplay. But someone is deliberately misleading you, and you willingly believe it. Your marathon are look as if you are forced to wait and stand still before each next kilometer of the distance, and with each next kilometer these waits are longer, and longer, and longer. But the marathon of the game should be that there is always room for development in the game, something to build, something to explore - a constant presence of the future.

In fact, if we consider all this in the form of a distance, then you “run” not this notorious distance of 42 km 195 m, but much more shorter, but in time like the marathon, yes.

The whole point is something else. The game simply has nothing to offer you for further development. This is the main reason. But in fact, it should be that you should have so many options for paths that everyone could choose their own, while you simply would not have enough resource capabilities, but not enough waiting time, to master all the paths.

The game is developing, improving, and I really hope that everything will come to that - there will be a lot of things that can be built and explored, and not wait a long time just because there is simply nothing further.

I'm not sure if you want things to speed up because you're bored with nothing to do or you want your investments to speed up so you can move on quickly.
Surely you have the Amory, library, Uni, Museum, parliament where you can keep yourself busy?
Or you have nothing to do at this level - in which case you should move up (if you have the experience level) - then you'll have more things to do.

Exactly! I understand that I can develop more intensively, invest resources, but I have to wait for the completion of construction and research. In such a time of long waits, there is really simply nothing to do in the game. Even battles lose all meaning, because the warehouses are full, there is no progress in the development of troops either - battles become familiar and even a little boring sometimes. Nothing has changed for a long time - that’s exactly what I’m talking about.

I absolutely agree that both construction and research should take some time! It’s just like a normal life process - there must be some expenditure of effort, resources and time. But when one building takes 10 days to improve it, and there are 7 of them... this is already too much! And this is not the longest wait yet.

At least increasing the number of citizens could help. But I have already placed my emphasis on having the maximum number of townspeople - China, the Opera House, the Estate, but they are also catastrophically lacking. Naturally, I am constantly conducting all possible research, wherever possible - the Armory, the Library, the University.

Long wait times are times when the player has nothing to do in the game, when the player simply starts to get bored. The point is not so much the speed of development, but the fact that there is always something to do and something to invest resources in.

What's wrong with putting the game down & doing something else - like go outside?
7 day upgrades give you a chance to smell the flowers! 😄

New Player can ask Old Players not to be upset that have put more time money into something New Player wanting a quicker easier way to do . I don’t think that is going to happen cause basically being as rude as cutting in line infront of people that been standing in line for years.

I am saying this cause it is true not to attack anyone. Just because New Player joined a game later then folks that joined years before New Player does not mean New Player gets to cutt in line in front by coming up with ideas that only benefit New Player rush to pass Old Players that have put in more time and money than New Player have. This is not fair in my eyes nor should it be.

To be fair, new players are asking to cut in line, not just cutting in. It's up to the devs to allow them in or not.
No harm in asking, right?

Well asking is fine but calling people stupid and making it personal is not cool. To be fair let’s call it what it is asking to cut and just cutting have same intent to get without earning. Shame used be earning something meant more then just using a gimme from dev. Using fancy word time cutt request and just plane simply same asking hey dev New Player started this game yesterday I wanna compete with the top players make it happen who cares what they put in I am better than them lol

Plus most people find cutting in line rude lol weather you ask or not lol

Guys, @nobodyknowsthetrouble , @Seek , it seems that you are talk not against the idea itself, but you continue to insist on your firm “senile” conviction that new players and other players at all should in no case have it better or easier than it was for you. Are you generally against any progress in the game?

I am all for progress that is fair to old and new players. New player have already been over give 50% reductions in time required to make it to drone age. While all the old players that put in double the time and money got 2 extra slots that’s it. That not progress that is messed up.

Now if I see ideas that just I wanna win now idea forget what others put in , yea I am going sound off.
How about instead of asking for free advantage’s we never got you come with idea that benefit us both equally , like fixing replay , collect all button on stuff, new artifacts etc etc not just I want to progress faster and cheaper then you old players.

Suggest stuff fair to all I will support totally but looking free short cut or unfairly gain advantage I am going speak against.

There are plenty of artifacts that cutt universities times plus reduction in time on building free up more citizens which allow quicker university time to complete. There have been enough short cuts given out. While old players got two slots and drone below cry for that to be taken. Not our fault you joined game two years ago and we been playing 8 years we should be ahead and not forgot about

Means that after all, everything that I tried to explain here did not reach you (although you said that everything was clear). And so let's call it "opaque elements that treat players in a special way". Sadly.

As @King Crimson very accurately noted earlier, this mechanism, among other things, will make it possible to compensate "short waits" an early Ages, and it also gives small advantages to really active players, which is quite logical... but... I don’t want to explain the same thing several times. Perhaps we'll end here.

I sincerely believe that the BHG development team will look at the idea and properly evaluate it in terms of its usefulness for the overall gameplay.

P.S. @nobodyknowsthetrouble, it's funny to see how you support almost the same idea elsewhere as this one, in essence they are very similar.

Actually, what I meant was that this will actually reduce the effectiveness of the recent time reductions that BHG introduced - making each player, as they age up, pull slightly further ahead from the previous age.
So I get what nobodyknowsthetrouble is saying although I don't think this idea would be too damaging either.
But it's all irrelevant - we asked for buildings in the store to start at the age you're in, it never happened. We said later ages, being more technologically advanced, should clear forest quicker; it never happened. etc, etc.
This idea should be implemented but it won't. It'll also take away the uniqueness of the Greeks - and I think each nation should have it's own quirk.
Plus, as Seek said, there've been plenty of additions to help players speed up. As it stands, most would agree there's a lot to work with.
