Signing on to this petition. BHG the example used in your SitRep is a strawman and the exact opposite of reality. Changing the operational order in applying the 85% cap only helps attackers. It will destroy defenses. Its impossible for Defenses to anything higher than -90% hp (Even this is theoretical only - requiring the use of Hermitage for a weapon and 6 15% lines - I have never actually seen it in play). What IS possible is for offenses to get -130% AEDTdmg and AEDThp. So now defenses will see their towers dmg and hp dragged down even further than when offenses were limited to cutting these two stat lines to -85%.

I understand bhg wanting to fix the premature -85% cap but it needs to occur in conjunction with buffs to defense. This change alone will hurt defense and buff offense. Offense is already too strong. We need better balance.

Someone explain to me how defensive players are not able to get just as much + "all defensive tower hp/dmg" on their artifacts as attackers are able to get - "all defensive tower hp/dmg" on theirs. Thanks.

85% cap. Look at the sitrep update and it will explain why.

They can; players within this thread (not me :) are upset that defenders can't continue to get more ADT than attackers can get AEDT.

Defenders need all the help they can get in this state of the game. This change kicks defenders when they're down. This is a bad move.

/signed although I agree that 85% should be imposed AFTER the off vs def comparison. But first fix the imbalance between the 2.

Unfortunately this 'strategy' game no longer requires anything of the sort for attackers. It's simply "drop and watch", recon scan, and sabotage the base.
Devs... Please make this game more challenging by enhancing defense. Numerous suggestions have been shared on your forums and hope you'll listen + follow through with player feedback.

Facts further exasperating Defense:
Council is heavily focused on offense
The few defensive counselors have mediocre defensive stats in unimportant areas (except Defender spawn/health).
Recon scans (reduce effectiveness or give defenders a chance to completely nullify them)
Sabotage duration with council boosts - 10 second bunkers don't stand a prayer if they never get to spawn

Solutions if you're going to change the -85% cap anyway: (All are not needed, just a few)
  1. Reduce recon scan duration or effectiveness
  2. Increase Defensive coalition percentages significantly
  3. Reduce Defender spawn caps (10 seconds is current limit)
  4. Boost all building base health by a small percentage per age
  5. Increase defensive stat percentages in council

I understand how the cap works. Attacker has =95% to All Enemy Tower HP. Defender has +100% to their own All Defensive Tower HP. These are now added together first, net result, +5% to the defender's tower HP, nobody is over 85% on anything, so nobody gets capped. Where's the problem?

I'm open to seeing some big advantage being given to attackers here, but so far I don't see the argument for it.

Here's the current math with real numbers unlike their examples:
Defender has 170% ADTH (I have more than this)
Attacker has 150% AEDTH
Defender has +20% advantage

Oh wait... here comes the Recon! -280% + 20%.
New Result: Attacker has a -260% Advantage which bypasses all the safety nets.
