Not received any gifts for upgrading to space age

Instead, the messenger who is supposed to bring gifts after upgrading is stuck on the base. Very annoying and disappointed not getting those promised gifts and troop tactics.

I just received a Space Chest of 15 rewards, think Emissary problem has been resolved

Tin Soldier said in a previous post that the Emissary gifts can't be collected until everyone has installed the Space Age update

The emissary is still stuck on the map and no rewards or gifts at all.

Who is everyone? And why do players depend on others in order to receive the rewards?

I received this space Age chest about an hour ago, and Emissary now buggered off.
This is on Android

- I could be wrong (I'm not a programmer) but for some reason, some upgrades aren't activated until they have been downloaded by most of the playerbase. It's happened before
