Muet, please act immediately and don’t make us wait for fixing the failed war weight update. Please communicate with us and tell us your intentions. We can not go on with fixes which are pushed months away while you roll out new event gimmicks. We really didn’t need that. Would prefer your team spend their time and energy fixing old bugs and addressing cheating in a bigger way. Also, please once and for all fix the replays, base building bug and lag.

- dominations performance in WW (eliminate lag etc)
- fix +3 in alliance gate
- fix war weight in WW for space age players

those are the most important things you should focus on atm. THEN we can talk about the new event system and how this can be done better.

Kind of surprised you still put any value in what he says. Muet’s job is lip service, nothing else. They just pushed out ANOTHER update with an event-breaking bug. If he really cared about the game, he wouldn’t let such blatant and utter game-breaking “bugs” affect literally EVERY MAJOR UPDATE they push out.

War weights are still something I'm looking into.

Most Wars continue to be pretty decent matches. However, there are extreme cases as you near the top of the matching pool where the system sometimes struggles to find appropriate matches in a reasonable time. In those cases, the result is Wars like you have all reported: You wait in queue until the match quality restrictions loosen enough to create a lower quality match. Fixing the Space Age weight issue helped, but only a little. The real problem at the top end is pool size. Wait time vs match quality. Technically, we could set the system to only accept high quality matches. But the trade off would be extreme wait times for some Alliances (Which isn't really a great alternative. At some point, you just want to play.)

Our next step in improving match quality at the top end is investigating a change to the Expansion Windows I talked about in the Design Spotlight. The system isn't binary for "only high quality matches" or not. So we'll be modelling some modifications to those restrictions that hopefully yield higher quality matches with small trade-offs of wait time.

No your wrong the Defense in space age doesn't work right pre this update I was base 6 not correct I'm higher then I crowned air Defense silo and rocket arsenal and fell to base 12 so BHG_Muet war weight is still off and 10 min searchs to that yeild anything but a fair war too easy or too hard

What is wrong is base # is a representative of your war weight within your alliance if that is off then war cannot be correct BHG_Muet and space age Defense is still not weighted and remember this also effect cwa and Atomic as this bug begins in the atomic original release

War weights are certainly not corrected. I rank 27th on our 39 man line up and have the heaviest base on our team.

As for match making have you considered a pod system where you enter into a search 4 times a day. For example you can start search 2:00 UTC, 8:00 UTC, 14:00 UTC, 20:00 UTC. All teams who have entered in at their time slot run through the match making and is given the best match. This will prevent long wait times and also get fair matches.

However that will not work if war weights are not fixed.

here is how war it weight was and again what it should be since things were added to the game since and not counted
from release of game war weight is in order
General levels all general levels on fort and Pentagon (offense and defense) , bunkers, silo , tank deposit, mortars fort machinegun towers, traps , Garrison's towers , sniper towers, factory troops , barracks troops
Order should be :
Museum, coalitions, university (so it adds all benefits) then general levels all, general level on fort and Pentagon (bases with Pentagon get higher rank ) silo, bunkers tank depots, mortars, machine gun towers fort traps towers sniper towers factory troops barracks troops war tactics level wall level, war wonders (Acropolis, Versailles, Brandenburg gate, Pentagon, statue of liberty, Terra Cotta, forbidden City,c Kremlin, shuttle, unisphere, and large array final factor total base hit points . Do this BHG_Muet and that should fix the ranking

Back when we were originally reworking matchmaking I considered something pretty similar to what you've described. Ultimately I went with the current system in favor of the notion that "Sometimes, or even often, there are quality matches that we can make very quickly." Bucketing and matching only on a timer makes a fairly substantial trade off in how long you have to wait.

We’ve spun 2 wars since the update. Both have been mismatches.

First one we had 2 GA and the rest IA and lower. Got matched with 2 AA 2 GA and rest IA and lower. The difference in the top bases killed our chances.

This current one we have 1 SA and 5 cwa. They have 3 cwa. Total mismatch.

BHG_Muet I don’t know if you look into any of the community event wars or not but you should. Without knowing actual war weight regular players have consistently come up with better matches than your algorithm. I know it isn’t a total applies to apples comparison but the point still stands. If a normal player can look at 60-100 players and put them into 2 fair ish teams, why can’t the algorithm find a decent match among thousands? This isn’t a one off type thing. We’re consistently getting mismatches either for or against.

I looked into some of your Alliances to see the War matches you've had since the fix went out in 7.4. You all were right. Only a small handful of the War Weight updates made it to live. We found 22 items that should have been given Weights that didn't make it through (Rocket Arsenal, Sniper Towers, Bastions, most of the extra Space Age building upgrades).

Those 22 items now have Weights attached to them. It likely won't update your slot in in current Wars but you should notice the difference starting with your next War. Thank you all for the catch. Please respond here with what you find in your next Wars.

Fixing the Weights aside, I do still think there is room to improve the system with modifying the Expansion Windows. It's not as immediate of a concern as fixing the Weights was. But, there are likely some match quality improvements we can make that trade small amounts of wait time for superior matches. I'll keep you all updated as we make tweaks there in the future.

How hard is it to weigh ''shooty'' things like buildings or ''defendy'' things like walls/bastions into the system? If you enter a car into a race you check you have petrol and 4 wheels. It's fundamental!
Who tests these things before going live?

BHG_Muet can someone prioritize fixing WW so that we can even participate again? As you said, at some point you just want to play. 4 days since my alliance lost the ability to go to war and counting and it is not even acknowledged as a bug yet.

theBobNamedDan been playing a long time 4+ years have only seen that once before and may have a work around for you....tell me exactly what happens when you go to start a war...do you get to see the list of players...can you select players in and out of war? ...what happens after you do and press start. If possible message me on line app my id is the same as my name here. Game name is legend leave your post here up if I'm not able to help you but I think I remember how to fix it

BHG_Muet i suggest to mix both these cases. when you find a good war match immediately give them the match and when you don't find a match add them to a scheduler buckets. which finds a match rather than reducing or increasing war weight.

you can use buckets architecture to do well.
1. first bucket just searches matchings for similar war weight, for example if you have average of 200 it will search from 195-205. when there is no match found in 15-30 minutes send that alliance to 2nd bucket.
2. second bucket will try to match with +-10 or more.
3. if an alliance is still not able to find a match it is sent to 3rd one with more deviance applied.

you can add more buckets of make it a cycle of buckets from 1 to 3 then 3 to 1.

this should solve your most of the issues of match making.

for war weights i would suggest to go with simple calculations and don't make it complex which intern makes more bugs and issues. i had seen this type of issues in our developments. most of the time making it simple makes life better. just consider levels nothing else. this is a strategy game and players should think if opponent has offense or defense or library or university or resource buildings upgraded.
