How many houses / builders are max ? and....

Curious to know if there is a cap on builders/houses

I have 5 houses and I just started the iron age..

So far, 6 houses > 12 citizens (14 citizens if you purchase the starter pack).

In anticipation to your next possible question, you'll have another house available to build in the Classical Age and another one in the Gunpowder Age.
