The search parameters for wars are team size, war weight, war weight distribution, glory, and search time. Of you have exhausted the supply of opponents similar to yourself, then you will get mismatched war opponents of you wait long enough for a match.
Before Nexon initiated the immediate check against the pool of searching alliances, it was possible to limit your risk of getting a mismatch in war simply by limiting your search time. Better no war at all than one that isn’t fair or fun. But now when you hit search, you are immediately exposed to being matched against fringe teams that have otherwise exhausted their supply of similar opponents so they get matched with you.
Now, the only viable strategy is to get a fun and fair war is to make sure there are plenty of other teams to match against. In other words, maintain a team size, war weight, war weight distribution, and glory that are most common among warring alliances. It is difficult to assess what those magic totals might be, but if you grow the parameters evenly, then you’ll have the best chance of getting a fair and fun war. Meaning that as your glory grows, so should your team size, war weight, and war weight distribution. It would be great if the Old Man could peer into Nexon’s data and provide advice on your best next step to adjust your war team to get better matches.
Some teams decry Nexon’s poor war matching, but aren’t themselves growing with the mainstream and so get unfair and unfun war matches. But there is safety in numbers - adjust your war team to be mainstream and have some fun. You can either climb the ladder or you can be the ladder. You choose.
