Consider reevaluating the grouping system, and instead focus on well-defined Triumph goals by adding non-group-based rewards. For example, say everyone that ends with 20k Triumph will receive a prize regardless of their group. Potentially tier this (e.g., 40k Triumph gets X, 80k Triumph gets Y, and so on.) This way people earn something for their work rather than maybe earn something for their work depending on how lucky/unlucky they are (who's in the group). The group system causes more resentment than fun competition.
