An idea that would be a little complicated (especially for deploying multiple planes) but could work is... a option to select the boundry you want planes to come from with first click then target with second would be interesting. This could be a system that only functions if you click boundary first. If you only select a target it could auto-deploy under the current AI. Like real life sometimes the best route isnt always the most direct.

Be prepared for some complaints about extra clicks.
I could get on board with selecting the boundary first but then again sometimes you want to deploy your planes extra fast, like when tanks approach your howies, or when a decoy trap distracts your troops, etc, so that precious second or two selecting the boundary could mean losing some troops.

why i added... 'This could be a system that only functions if you click boundary first. If you only select a target it could auto-deploy under the current AI'

i agree that this shouldnt be the default deployment mechanism but something you could opt into with the extra boundary click

Got it, good point.
Should've read it fully. :)
