Also do you know whether Acropolis effect speeds up troop spawned from Colosseum & Town Center?

That's at least 6 months away. If you want to build for endgame, build defensive wonders, the amount of gold you get from wonders won't even scratch the surface of walls

I tested yesterday. The answer is yes. Without Acropolis, it's 5s/40s. With Acropolis, it's 4s/32s. Of course you have to put Colosseum in range. Town Center ( I tried Chinese) sees no effect.

1. Versailles: good for buffing cavalry troops with 10% bonus HP, that is all
2. Taj Mahal: decent amount of free trade-goods, will take about a year before it's 2% bonus loot will refund it's cost
3. Temple of Tikal: Trade cap is worse than Taj Mahals free trade-goods, 3% refund will take years to refund it's investment due to peace treaties
4. Ankor Wat: Heal is useless and 1 trade good per day vs the 5-10 saved by Taj Mahal

* Versailles HP bonus includes your raiding barrack troops (it has nothing to do with the radius of its slow effect)

The above information is only based on value of resources spent. Some people may choose wonders on a different merit (I myself prefer wonders to match my nations building style). In reality, only Notre Dame is worth building, and Versailles for Greek / French players or other heavy cavalry players.

After reading this, I don't think I'm going to build any Wonder at all for Gun Powder Age. They all seem pretty lame and not worth spending 5 million food on. I'd rather put that 5 million food to upgrading other things that have higher return.

It will cost you millions to upgrade one single type of troops in GP age and later. 5 million to buy a huge upgrade on all your troops seems a sweat deal to me. I am talking about Versailles.

I like to think that Hanging Gardens increases the supply of cider and metal dropped -- at least I always seem to have a surplus of those two trade goods and always spend them before collecting as I can't stand the 'no more room for xxx in storehouse' message. This is not documented and tedious to test for but if true, the wonder remains relevant throughout the game.

The purpose of food is to help you build a stronger army. Then with that army, you go ahead and raid more gold to build a better defense in order to advance to a new age.

When you just unlocked a new age, food is more important. Troop, caravan, wonder, castle all need them.
But when you are at the ending half of that age, gold is more important to defend to save up and advance.

It depends on whether you are a short sighted person for food or long term end player for gold.
