The Coloseum is under powered in late game.
It badly needs boosting through the ages.
It is severely out matched by regular garrisons.
Yet this is a wonder.

At minimum the Colosseum needs a -2 second respawn per age past classical age.
With 6 ages past classical and 2 more planned that drop its staggering 40 second respawn down to a more reasonable 28 seconds and in the furture 24 seconds.

I feel this alone isn't enough.
I feel to balance it further its max troop limit should increase by +1 per age.
This mean the Colosseum could have on field up to 14 troops and later 16 troops.

Neither of these increase how many troops it spawns per spawn time.

This is far far more inline with the garrisons it supposed to rival instead of being inferior to.

I hope others agree that the Colosseum needs a little buffing.

i am sure everyone picks a wonder cause of one of the two options.
Watched a dominations video on YouTube last night where someone picked the Hanging Garden's for the speed reduction for more goods. It second ability.
While most I know chose it for it boost to food and gold.

I believe a choice is made based on ones chosen strategy.

so you think the extra 1000ish food and 2000ish gold from each tree and mine is more beneficial than being able to collect from them every 3 hours compared to every 4 hours?

Nope at the slightest, the other wonders are just the same in effect. Colliseum allow you use a powerful tactic while act as semi-militant garrison. I use them to the late-game, and they're pretty decent.

Personally, I tend to think SOTG is the meaningful benefit for the Colosseum. I appreciate the additional troops I receive on defense but they are nominal at best. Besides, I don't believe you could get away with modifying these stats without altering stats for every single wonder...

Strength of the Gladiator is the primary ability of Colosseum, because it's the most powerful and most impactful. Nobody really cares about spawning melee defenders, but SotG is a huge benefit for your war attacks. Therefore, like JNation already said, buffing its defensive aspect would only make it OP as a wonder. A defensive buff would have to be paired with the reduction or removal of SotG to preserve any sense of balance.

I use the colosseum for its offensive ability during WW. Using strength of the gladiator combined with blitzkrieg and 1 or 2 sabotage allows you to clean a significant part of an enemy base in a few seconds !

I rarely use SotG and would happily trade it off for a more powerful garrison aspect from Colosseum.
I use the Colosseum for its defensive aspect which is the most useful part of it.
Seems most of you need SotG to fight.
So you all must not raid very often.
