Restart Game with subscription

Hi,

It’s been a while since I created a post here. There was a time, years ago when I was quite active on the Forum. I think a lot of people, like me, aren’t feeling the excitement they once felt about the game. The game has gotten so complicated. I think the basic point of the game, nations advancing through the ages, has been overshadowed by extras added over the years to draw income for BHG. And these over-complicated extras have introduced bugs, glitches and opportunities for cheating.

What if, we could go back to the basics? What if a separate server is introduced on a monthly subscription plan (no extra purchases, no crowns, no speed-ups) with the basic game as it was in December 2015 when war was introduced? Then we could all start over and grow our accounts organically, compete on a level playing field and wars would be won by skill and strategy, not by the alliances who paid or cheated the most. Time played is the main commodity.

Some adjustments can be made to give a better experience. Defense will need to be enhanced. Adjust barracks/factory/air troops so various troop comp styles are competitive and everything is used. Balance the different nations so we have to learn new methods of attacking and defending depending on nations involved. New ages can be added as time goes by (but not necessarily the PTW/CTW buildings like SH and museum) to keep things fresh and exciting. I think we could get enough people willing to pay a subscription to make up for lost income of purchased legendary items, tactical troops, stupid videos etc. That income would be lost anyway when everyone quits in a few months. Why not breath life back into the game using the basics?

So what does everyone think? Would you be willing to pay a monthly subscription to play? How much would you be willing to pay? Wouldn’t it be worth the cost of a streaming service or fast food to play?

It’s just a silly idea that came into my head. Please be kind in your replies.

Hugs and kisses,
Gail

I would pay the usual fee most games have which is 5,99€.
I like this idea but I'm afraid they will never do that.

I agree with your comments about nations advancing through the ages and for anyone starting this game I think that still applies - at least until Global/Atomic age - then it becomes a grind, trying to do (or pay) what you can to reduce the ridiculous upgrade times. So, for a while at least, the fact that you can do this on a free game makes it worthwhile and fun.
I personally wouldn't want to pay a subscription for something I pick up for 30 mins a day. Happy to pay the occasional $60-70 for crowns, at my discretion, but wouldn't want to be forced into paying just to play for a little while.

In theory it does sound alright but i just don't think there's enough people clamouring for it. Plus, since when does BHG listen and implement ANYTHING we tell them to do? 🤔😱😂

I wouldn't mind paying £5 a month right now if it meant, less bugs, no cheaters, less of P2W and Premium OP Troop Tactics, and definitely no Museum or Council building.

It brings back some good memories thinking back to when the game first had wars introduced and so many less features that ruined the game for some of us. I fell behind so much it just wasn’t worth the time and effort anymore. It feels like too much time has passed that it’s hard to imagine them adopting an idea such as you suggest. Plus, I don’t think they have the required resources to make it happen.

I have no idea what the game looks like now because I quit some time back. I only replied because I happened to log in and it’s nice to see an old name I remember. Hobbit Zombies was a good alliance. I hope all is well for you, Gail.

Good to see you JB. Hope all is well with you.

I actually played in a game that released a separate server with the basic game before all the bedazzling occurred so I think it would be possible. Although it was a game with several servers running simultaneously so maybe not.

Excellent suggestion! Such an approach would draw me back to the game without question. Bump!
