Even a little bit of something is better than a whole lot of nothing. Regardless of whether the rewards are measly (and yeah, they are a bit ) it's an accumulation effect over time - as @SomeRandomPlayer said.
You can't expect them to give you 100 components any more than they'll give you legendary councillors for free?

What kind of logic is this? They literally do give us legendary councillors for free (or at least the chance of getting them), and that is exactly the point of the events - to give away items to encourage regular participation. The current event does not achieve this, while the rewards themselves are also somewhat annoying.

I would suggest giving 5-10 Impis as a reward and after reaching 40, we can have a troop tactic

I am not complaining. I pointed out what I believed to be an error. I also pointed out that these particular rewards do not make sense given the usual event rewards. As Maxis says above, it’s not like you have to collect 5 fragments of a 5 minute speed up before you can use it.

I agree 2 of each item would be next to useless but did you have a look at the rest of the rewards? The individual components, all added together, add up to lots of 10 or 20. (except poly for some reason)

Yes, of course I did see that.

Look, compare this event to the recent Black Friday week event, where each day 5 premium recruitment cards and one superior card were given away in the same manner. That event gave away worthwhile rewards each day,

This event also gives away a superior card each day if you compete all stages, but the individual stages are worthless unless added together. I have never seen an event that gives away fractions of anything.

And, as you say, even collecting all stages won’t give you a useable unit of polycarbonate. The same is true of glass. You get 4 bits, i.e. 0.4 of a useable unit. I mean really, what’s the point?

The event does not therefore provide the ‘kickstart’ that it was described as.

Unfortunately my attempt to point out what must clearly be a mistake was drowned out by people trying to shout me down.

Nope not doing that at all. I'll be happy if Harlem says they made a mistake but whatever happens, you can either be negative or choose to find the positive. I'm a glass half full kinda guy.

People thought x2 should equal 20, which is a different topic than saying x2 should have been x20 instead. I'll always believe that x2 should mean 2, x42 means 42, x101 means 101, and so on, just like it does throughout the entire game.
