• Ending Support for AOS6
As highlighted in our 12.10 Update notes, we will be ending support for AOS6 with the release of the 12.11 Update due to technical requirements. Those on AOS6 will need to upgrade to a device that supports AOS7 or above to continue playing DomiNations.

Enjoy the game - stay in Global Age

For quite some time I have been suspicious of two things

a) the constant push from the game to go up the ages (rush events, etc.)
b) the constant push from the game to increase your medals (“destroy all buildings in your opponents base”, etc.)

When the devs want you to do something, you should do the opposite, because what they want you to do invariably leads to you paying large sums of money.

So I stayed in Global Age and I will stay a lot more.

When everyone is hugging and puffing to rush up to whatever age comes out every few months, I’ll be in Global Age. And I will be looting with my raiders, losing 20 medals and earning 7k oil each time.

Some advantages of staying in Global Age and 200 medals

- You can raid 5k oil with 5 raiders. That’s 1000oil/raider
- You can aim to upgrade 7 generals to level 40. I already field 2 lvl 40 generals in world war battles, soon 3
- You can finish Jedong research that allows you to use one less citizen in University. That’s equivalent to buying a villa. Only it’s free!
- You can finish ALL university research comfortably
- You can upgrade ALL your artefacts to their fullest, comfortably
- No one can steal your oil
- You have A LARGE VARIETY of national trade goods to choose from when you field your regular army
- That means you always have three coalitions in world wars without spending a penny
- You don’t have to buy event passes
- You don’t have to buy gems
- You laugh with the mess that higher ages have become

I understand that most people can unfortunately not revert back to global.

But new members, stay in your ages as long as you can!

If you go up an age you spend your oil and citizens on other things rather than upgrading generals and jedong

Pretty sure every hungry Cold War ager can raid your base. 7 Level 40 generals are no advantage at all. In the time you Need to finish Seyong for one worker less I can two the important researches for 3 or 4 leaders. Finishing every little thing in university is not really helpfu. You CANNOT finish all university research in global age.

Nobody must hold high medal ranges even if an event is asking for something. Ignore the stupid event or drop medals.

on the other side you are missing some big deals of the game:

- second airstrip in atomic age
- Pentagon in atomic age (only reason for a fourth level 40 general...)
- university research in atomic age at Haille and Amelia and now Harriett for museum spy
- university research in Cold War age at Haile boosting your war coalitions
- library researches in higher ages giving big boost, eg archaeology to museum

You are staying in global age with four paper fighters instead having eight with much more power.

I am raiding between 15.000 and 30.000 oil with an attack and having no or minor losses.

you don’t know what you are writing.

I like this post. I have access to near-fully upgraded accounts from every age Iron to Industrial and playing in these ages is a good break from the race at the top. I’m looking forward to helping advance this “collectors set” of bases to include Global next.

I agree with the OP’s main point: by lagging behind you create opportunity to explore parts of the game that you might never (or pay big $$ to) experience at later ages. Resources are easy to get when you are the big fish in the small pond, so you can do upgrades that you might not consider at higher ages. And with maxed defense and offense, you can take on rushed bases one or two ages higher than yourself and win/defend.

With the TB broke, my main account is too frustrating to even gather resources. But I can hit Industrial and Global bases with my maxed Industrial account with no TB, no allies, and no losses and gather resources to keep my citizens fully employed and NTGs for full coalitions easily.

Don’t undervalue the fun factor of lagging behind. Sometimes the journey is more rewarding than the destination.

You just listed what the game is trying to tempt you with for going up an age.

I agree with the premise, though I'd suggest staying in atomic age as the attack and loot power is vastly increased compared to global age while the level of competition now that Space Agers are gone is not that bad.

Dont understand why Jedong is so important for you. Finish Hannibal, Amelia, Haile, Sally in university before starting with him. Most researches are not helpful after Industrial Age.

On generals you need Hannibal, Churchill and Joan, later Zhukov. You are wasting oil and time. Just my 2cents.

Agreed, Atomic is the place to be, especially now that Space Age can't attack you any more. As long as you are over level 200 with a missile silo, most CWA will leave you alone. Level 185 and no silo? You will never be without a peace treaty.

I stand for rushing till Atomic and then just pausing there for pleasure. 2nd airstrip is a real huge benefit esp if you know how to leverage air troops. And you can still be a big fish in a small pond like what Cannibal said in whatever age you’re in with well upgraded factory troops. I would still prioritize attack over defense upgrades so you can have more fun by winning battles. And use Storage Blessing to your own advantage to store whatever big losses you’re making in your Mailbox due to lower defenses. Why try so hard to deter people from attacking you when you will max out your resources eventually from a few battles a day? Try storing some for a rainy day.

What good is all of that oil if you have nothing to spend it on? I'll take my factory troops and 8 planes over maxed generals any day.

Everyone knows the earth is round. If it was flat, my cat would've pushed everything off the edge already! :D

Global Age is the worst age, while Enlightenment is the 2nd worst age. There isn't a close 3rd worst age so... Nope.

I don’t understand. I’m trying to have a conversation here and my answers are not shown for days. Why does it take more than three days for my replies to be approved. How many people are manning this forum?

Medieval is the 3rd worst age. And I think Enlightenment is worse than global, but it's close.

I did what you do and it was a mistake. The place where you need to take your time and do whatever you want is ATOMIC AGE.
You are hurting yourself from this point onward.

Global Age was the most fun I had playing the game. Once you move up you can’t go back, so if you’re enjoying the game hanging back in any age, I doff my cap to you. The players that break free from the peer pressure aspect inherent in these games and enjoy their game experience just as much as anyone else have my respect. Keep doing your thing my man.
