I'm a long time player of strategy games and a huge fan of Civ 2, so was understandably excited when I discovered this game s few days ago. I'm totally hooked already and have ditched my previous regular game, Tiny Realms on iOS for this.
One huge loss here though is unit control - to have a large group of units blindly attacking a useless building whilst under attack until they all die is silly and as the general to not be able to issue orders in battle is similarly not so good. In tiny realms combatants are lumped into warbands, squads of 30+ which can be made up of whatever you like - then you can directly RTS style issue orders to them, for instance all attacking a single defensive building or taking one each simultaneously.
For me the premise, style and execution of this game so far as I have seen is excellent and a great fit for me, to be able to order units around in battle aside from once every 30 seconds or so for all units at once would make this game as close to perfect as any so far on iOS, especially for the traditionally PC only strategy games.
Tl;dr - this game is absolutely fantastic and super-kudos on everything, but controlling units or squads of units in battle would make this game a total world- beater.
Please don't let my suggestion detract from the excellent job you've done with this game, just a suggestion I'm really passionate about
Thanks
