New Upcoming Event: Historical Harvest
The instant Town Center Upgrade from Summer for the Ages will continue from 9/23 until 12/12 during which our brand new Historical Harvest Event will take place! This fall you’ll find things like Councilors for Crowns, University discounts, and an updated Conqueror’s Chest leading up to Winter for the Ages. We’ll be sharing full details of what you can expect from this new Event in our Historical Harvest post going live on 9/23 here on the forums!

Autumnal Equinox Day 9/22 - 9/29
This week is our Autumnal Equinox Day Event!
Autumnal Equinox Day is a public holiday in Japan, also known in Japanese as Shubun no Hi. It usually occurs between September 22 or 23 and indicates the astronomical arrival of autumn.
Prior to 1947, it was the date of Shuki Koreisai, which is an event relating to the Shinto religion. After WWII, the day was rebranded as a non-religious holiday for the sake of separation of religion and state in Japan's postwar constitution.
On Autumnal Equinox Day, people will reconnect with their families to tend to the graves of ancestors and visit shrines and temples. People also celebrate the good weather and autumn harvest by enjoying outdoor activities and eating special sweet rice balls.

Library of Alexandria 9/24 - 10/1
The Library of Alexandria Event has begun!
The Great Library of Alexandria was one of the largest and most famous libraries of the Ancient World. The fate of the Great Library has been argued extensively. The main point of contention being whether it survived until the Arab conquest of Alexandria in the 7th century. There is evidence that the destruction of the two libraries, the Royal Library and a daughter library inside the Serapeum, occurred at different times. The Royal Library was victim to Julius Caesar’s involvement in a civil war in Egypt between Cleopatra and her brother Ptolemy XIII. To gain the upper hand over the Ptolemaic forces, Caesar set fire to the enemy fleet in Alexandria. It is believed that the destruction caused by that fire destroyed the Royal Library. The daughter library in the Serapeum, is believed to have survived until near the end of the 4th century. However, once Christianity became the one and only religion acknowledged throughout the empire, an imperial decree was issued sanctioning the demolition of temples in Alexandria. This led to an attack on the Serapeum, resulting in the destruction of the temple and the second library with it.
