Why not have tactical bonuses from all generals other than from just sun tzu? The reason is simply to spice up the game and make it a little more interesting.
Generals in real life affect the military and the strategies and on the field tactics. Some ancient generals also had political influences as well. Why not apply the same concept in the game as well. Instead of just them being a super troop with super high health and considerable damage. What I am suggesting is that every general spawn troops and have one unique ability similar to thier real life feats.
Alexander conquered a lot of land in a very short amount of time, I suggest that Alexander gets a special ability like 15% extra movement speed for all troops deployed in the battlefield. And he spawns armory level heavy infantry once. Effects remain until general dies. This ability works both in offense and defence.
Edit : the movement speed increase is better as 30%
Cleopatra broke through at the naval battle of Actium once the battle became one sided against her. Her special ability can be for every enemy defensive building or enemy troop (defender or attacker) present in a certain radius around cleopatra she and allied troops present in the radius gain %1 damage boost. Up to 10%. This ability triggers once cleopatras health drops to 75%. Once triggered, the ability remains active until she is killed. She can spawn armory level ranged infantry once.
Joan of Arc led the french to victory against the british at a time when the french were losing a lot against the british. So I suggest her special ability be when you take 30% losses, your troops take 7% less damage, deal 3% more damage and rally cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds. Effects remain until general dies. Joan summons armory level heavy cavalry once.
Nobunaga united 1/3 of japan and was called one of the great unifiers. He transitioned japanese warfare during his age, he made the Japanese troops into a well trained professional army. I suggest that his ability be for every allied troop or tower next to another allied troop ( generals excluded) and tower, the damage and attack speed increases by %1, stacks up to 12%. This ability is active until the general dies. He spawns a mix of armory level heavy and ranged infantry.
Napoleon was a brilliant french military general and statesman who played a key role in the french revolution and led france to victory in the revolutionary wars and other napoleonic wars. He enjoyed using the artillery, infantry and cavalry in well coordination. His ability will be that Ranged Siege, Mortar troop, MRL and ranged infantry recieve 6% damage boost and 11% attack speed boost. Effects remain until general dies. He spawns armory level ranged siege once.
I want to end it here. See just like the ones I stated above. If the devs do this for all the general, including TT's then it will be a very fun experience. I suggest that in TT's players can take and donate only one general of the same type. I also suggest that they update the visuals of generals. I think they can be done better. Anyways thats it.
edit :
Mcarthur was notorious in attacking the enemy where they least expected an atttack from, he did this in the pacific theatre in world war 2 and also in the korean war. I believe he gets a fun ability, it is an offense only ability. When he is deployed in the field, the undeployable tiles around the enemy walls are only reduced to the tile they are in and when the enemy buildings are destroyed, the tiles on the rubbles becomes deployable for your troops. This ability remains open as long as the general is alive. McArthur deploys a squad of marines who have buffed health and damage than normal Coalition marines once.
Churchill was a very capable British war time prime minister, who with the help of allies fought the axis forces in various fronts and contributed winning world war 2. I would like to call his ability "Allies from Overseas". What this ability does is that at three points in the match, In the 30th, 70th and 140th seconds after Churchill is active in the battle, troops come from the sea on landing crafts and land on the dockyard. At 30th second, 5 armory level HI and 5 armory level RI deploys at the dockyard. At 70th second, 1 armory level heavy cavalry and 2 armory level heavy infantry. And finally at the 140th second, 1 armory level heavy infantry and 5 armory level heavy infantry. Churchill does not spawn any other additional troops.
Zhukov was a Soviet Field Marshall who spearheaded the push to Berlin in WW2, he was masterful in combined arms tactics. His tactics and strategies helped soviets win the biggest tank battle in history, the battle of kursk. His ability buffs troops, tanks ( Heavy cavalry, heavy tank, assault vehicle ) gets their health reduced to 10 health when taking fatal shots ( not applicable in defence ). Heavy cavalry bonus damage increased by 20%, bazooka damage multiplier x8 ( x9 in world war ), MRL fires 15 rockets at once and assault vehicle bonus damage increased by 20 %. Zhukov doesn't spawn troops. Effects remain as long as general is present in the battle.
Petra Herrera was a heroine in the Mexican revolution, I wont go into detail about who she was and her story but she was a good fighter and leader and she had a reputation for being a good strategist. She spawns 2 armory level machine gunners. When she is deployed, Commandos deal 30% more damage, paratroopers deal 20 % more damage and enemy generals take 10% more damage.
