Where logic comes to die: Lower ranking bases act like superior cities

Dear fellow sufferers of DomiNations,

I’ve reached a point in this game where I must ask—what unholy pact have these lower-ranking bases made? Because every time I roll in with my mighty, upgraded, battle-hardened army, I’m expecting domination. But no. What I get is a tutorial-level hamlet transforming into a black hole of doom that vaporizes my troops like they’re made of wet tissue and broken dreams.

We're talking about little wooden forts defended by a cannon that looks like it was built by toddlers—and yet somehow it targets like a laser, fires like a machine gun, and takes out an entire tank squad before I can say "Wait, what?" I deploy elite tanks. They deploy one cow, three spearmen, and a log cabin. I lose. Every. Single. Time.

Meanwhile, my generals—those glorious, mythical warriors—seem to get distracted mid-battle, possibly pondering the philosophy of war or the existential dread of yet another embarrassing loss. Thanks, guys.
So, to the developers: I love your game, but please, explain to me how a base 120 levels beneath my base surrounded by farmers and dreams is now the final boss. Is there some sort of underground troop steroid these people are accessing? Is my army secretly roleplaying as pacifists?

10/10 would rage-quit again.

Sincerely,
VenitVidiVici
