This weekend is our George Washington event! Upgrade your Dock, Bunker, Garrison, and Stable buildings during this event with 25% cheaper upgrades! Upgrades to all Generals are 50% off for a limited time!

Event lasts from 15:00 UTC 12/7 until 15:00 UTC 12/10.

General George Washington led the Continental Army across the Delaware River to launch a surprise attack against the Hessian forces in Trenton, New Jersey on the night of December 25-26 in 1776, during the American Revolutionary War.
The original attack plan actually included three separate river crossings with the two other forces led by Col. Cadwalader and Gen. James Ewing. However, only Washington’s force made it across the icy river.
Col. Johann Rall at Trenton was said to have acknowledged receipt of intelligence gathered from British spies about the attack. A series of false alarms compounded by the growing storm gave Rall and the Hessian forces a sense that no attack was likely that night, setting the stage for Washington’s historic victory.

Why does the forum get notified 18 hours later than Xabar’s source?

The forums are updated about 24 hours in advance of events. We update other sources (Facebook/Twitter) with teaser information earlier if it fits in the schedule there.

I had missed @Xabar's post - if I see it before the next event I'll be sure to update it with additional details instead of double posting.

Actually I prefer TinSoldier’s solution. If Xabar or anyone else wants to voluntarily carry event info from other sources sooner than Nexon’s schedule, then that helps everyone. We don’t live by just what you think Manifesto.

The only problem with this events is that they are so short! We have only time to do one General upgrade, with some luck 2.

Manifesto Cannibals Hi. I do not want crowns for this. I simply do not want to spend crowns for not knowing with enough anticipation when there is a discount event, and I want to help the rest of the community not to experience the same thing. It is very irritating when you put improvements that last 13 days, and the next day you find out that there is a discount (that only lasts 3 days)

As if posting a few days earlier is going to help with 13 day upgrades. Don't be that deluded.
Finding out an event is about to happen after you've started an upgrade is just the luck of the draw. It happens all the time in this and every other game. You're not the only person to experience this, happens to me on a regular basis. That's life.
Do you write a letter to a car dealership if they have a sale after you've bought a new car? Grow up.
If you've been playing long enough you should know they have discounts and events every week or fortnight. Hoping to plan things around the events all the time is like trying to catch a cloud.
