• Temporary Removal of 8x Free Legendary Tokens
Due to an issue with claiming the free 8x Legendary Tokens on DomiNations World we have temporarily removed the reward. The final date this reward is available will be extended because of this. The reward will return once the issue has been resolved.

Subscription fee as optional alternative to paid ads

The ads have become obnoxious.
  • They ignore the game sound settings, so I have to find a mute button for each ad, and some of them turn off muting after playing for a while. This means I cannot play the game in some places (such as, workplace, cafe, or while watching TV with my wife unless I completely block sound on my tablet which blocks urgent alerts)
  • It is often hard/impossible to tell when the ad has actually ended or to close it out without multiple taps
  • The contents of some ads are offensive
I don't argue that BHG should forego the revenue they get from ads. My request is for an alternative. You probably don't collect much money on a per user, per ad basis. Suppose that you calculated the income you would make if I watched all the ads presented in-game every day for a year and charge that total as a subscription fee. The people who don't want to pay the price can watch the ads. The people who are willing to pay the price click on the offers (the Marco rewards and the daily rewards and the video-retrain troop button) and skip the ad and receive the reward.

I would be open to this if it wasn't too expensive.
Also glad I am not the only one who finds some of the ads offence. Some are NSFW and I have to send my grandchildren away if they come on while they are watching me play. Also really, really annoying to have to click 3 or more times to close one ad.

the ads are among the worst things in today's games. I have thrown my TV to the dust bin 14 years ago just for this reason. Now imagine how I take it that my favorite game has ads. Luckily I do not watch all of them.

In Hill climb racing 2 (which is among the best managed games out there), you pay for the VIP pass 6 euro/month (it adds some substantial amount of resources and a free monthly pass) and all ads are gone. I would be willing to do that for dominations if it had so much value.

My least favourite thing about ads (which im not sure bhg can fix) is if u mark it as offensive you don't get the rewards for watching the advert. This is in all games. I just had to watch an offensive (or misogynistic) advert and i don't even get the rewards if i report it.

Yes, I think several are misogynist and some seem to me to be blatantly sexual in nature. At least one series focused on child-like female cartoons. I don't care if they're cartoons, I think they are deeply inappropriate.

BHG might respond to this by saying that they don't display these ads, they merely provide a platform through which an advertiser gets to do this -- under this argument, the content of the ad and how the ad interacts with the user, are solely the responsibility of the advertiser. I think I've seen that rationale in some interactions that I've had with BHG customer service. I guess opinions on this differ -- it seems to me that if something is displayed intentionally as part of the normal course of a game, it is the game company that owns (and makes money from) the choice to allow it to be displayed in the game.

My proposal is a good faith effort to allow BHG to make its choices about displaying filth to customers (including minors) while allowing me to pay them money to avoid having it on my machine and to reassure me that I can recommend this game to my underage grandson without having to worry about what BHG will present to him.

An alternative would be to screenshot some of these ads and complain to law enforcement. I suspect that at least in some jurisdictions, some of these ads would be considered unlawful as, I think, they should be. And if they were, I suspect that the question of accountability would be resolved in a way that BHG would not like.

6 euro/month
I find that far too expensive. I'm willing to pay 10-15 euros once (lifetime ad-free). I would also spend that on several accounts.
But several euros a month is too much for me. If I can't make all my accounts ad-free anyway, then I don't need it for any of them.

Or with the new login system: you buy the ad-free once per Dominationworld account and then have the bonus in all cities. Then 6 $ / month would also be worth considering.

Advertising depends on many factors. Some cannot be influenced, such as the region or the device.
You may be shown ads particularly often because you interact with them (even if it's just a report)
But you can, for example, reset your advertising ID in the Android settings or switch off personalized advertising in general. That helped me; I've been getting different ads ever since.
