a rhetorical point when things get heated: it's always a good idea to fairly characterize intent in discourse; i strongly discourage belligerence or false framing.... it's just not useful and it weakens the speaker.
if they refuse to alter glory from their internal process mechanics don't hold that against them; it might be important.
i can easily see their management as cringing at the precedent.... but that's not the real issue; that's just one solution.
at least this month .... this bug and lack of a response has propelled ProdicalThieves into the poster-child for the issue of ww-bugs giving legitimate player grievance.... that's ok, someone has to be and they are passionate enough to hold the banner.
if there is a precedent that NXN is responsible for problems that cost players cards or crowns (from player choice to use them) ... that could be prohibitive to managing the system ... that's not shameful, just grounds for improvement.
note there's a valid perspective that ProdigalThieves lost nothing, since glory is immaterial; so the "insult" to players is ephemeral, and they had the fun of winning. (of course from player perspective this is satirical, don't hang me.)
their system might be too young/fragile to allow them to take responsibility for these bugs. if that's so, it would *not* be a broken game ... but they should explicitly say that card use has a small amount of risk, and they won't (yet) be responsible if there is a technical fumble.
i can easily see them saying it's not guaranteed to work, and it's a player choice to use them. that would relieve all strain and just clarify expectations.
i'm pretty sure it does say that already in terms of service, but crawling through legalities is likely not a skill among us.
