saboteurs plant bombs on tanks

i think that once all the enemy defensive buildings are destroyed when attacking a base, the saboteurs/commandos/infiltrators should plant explosives on tanks/heavy tanks instead of shooting at them with a pistol, if they use explosives to destroy buildings, they should be able to use them to destroy tanks. they can use the pistol to attack footsoldiers, and use explosive charges against tanks and deal extra damage, perhaps 20x the damage of an attack with the pistol, or atleast more

Infiltrators aren't built for dealing with defenders, the same way wall sappers aren't. The pistol is only for when there are no more buildings left and they're useless.

I think the infiltrators would be very "broken", they could calmly sweep a base.

They're not the be-all and end-all. They're to be used strategically and complimented with other troops - like every other troop.
Learn to use them properly and they can be very effective.
