Recover lost account: XP rollback

Hi..one player got his account recovered, but he lost most 1 million XP in this exercise. Is this normal? Also, our alliance is now flagged with rolled-back XP with a red circle in our favorite stats website. Is there anything to worry about this XP rollback?
