Nerf or Rebalance the combo Mortars-Artillery-Parachutes

Well, I dont know how to post this without making it look like a cry. I started to play during the pandemic in 2020 and since then, the meta changed several times, sometimes even it was changed due to the game devs owepowering troops (like the choppers or the bombers), but now this is even worse. Im a F2P player and it took me 5 years grinding my account and Im not even finished yet (my defense is a mix between Digital-Auto, my age rn is Auto -I had to jump ages to help my guild-). Because Im a F2P and I was always around the position 6-3 in my World War list, I made sure that my account was a minibunker at least to help a little more and let the big boys do the offensive.

But the other day, and its no the first time, that someone rushed like nothing my base. Of course my base isnt bulletproof, but I have always Drone/Auto/Robotic attacking me and its hard for them to make me 5 stars (usually they got 0 to 3, only a real full player with better tactics can make me 5; and in Assault directly no one can win over me unless use this combo). But the reason for what Im making this posts is this:

In the images you can see his Museum, University and Library. As you can see, he only have +12% Damage and +31% HP for Mortars (Mortars = Mortero). He doesnt have any extra bonus for Artillery or Parachutes. Plus, I know the reps are buggy, but it seems he didnt use the Drone plus in his library all the drones techs are non-existent (so I will assume his drone tactics are level 1 or non reserched). Even then, his attack made 5 stars in 2 min 25 seconds.

But now look at my stats:

As you can see, my Museum has -42% damage for Quarters Troops (so his Mortars should have -30% damage and the Artillery -42%) and -42% in ALL Aero Troops (I dont know if this affects the parachute or just the plane transporting them). I also have -10% HP on Mortars (which now its seems like a joke because due to range and their OP damage, my defensive troops couldnt get them). As you can see, my University its almost full too, my Library is Full and my Drone Tactics are full too. I wont translate all, but I also a lot of bonus in specific defenses for damage and/or HP.

So the difference in all was far to much to deserve a lost like this, I had a better museum, better University, better Drone and better Library....at this point its make me feel like you can avoid all the grinding, use this combo and gg everyone regarding era or level, since between their attack speed, range and damage, its too much to stop it.

Once all the combos are nerfed and the game relies solely on artifacts and temporary towers, it will be just pay-to-win, no longer a strategy game...

There are always some attackers configuration which works against some bases and not so well against others. One composition should be nerfed only if it was good against everything. I've been playing that game for over than 7 years as a VIP2 and I really don't remember seeing a player rushing my base with that specific combo your complaining. (It doesn't mean no one can rush it, but they do with other compositions)

If you think this attack is so simple, you should try it yourself and see if you get the same results.
Nice words here, he thinks the combo is easy to use, one silly mistake with the combo, you lost or your troops and definitely the attack 😀, you still have to practice with it very well, and most times you get different base layout, some with 2 city center. You need to improvise sometimes

Today I saw a 337 level player ravage 2 450+ players with this combo. Tbf, the attacker had Uni and Museum direct to Mortars and a little buff on Paratroopers, but its so dumb that a player in Drone Age ravage in a 1 minute 2 Robotics player with full uni (and one O museum, the other D musuem) with almost no difference in time jajaja

Like Im saying from the begining, I never asked to make it unusuable; but at this point, this combo its so unfair that is dumb af, Im at the point of making an alt account and try it myself just to show how dumb it is and how easy is to win with no effort or focus effort with this. And worse thing is that it seems everyone in Drone/Auto/Robotic is using it, so of course they will defend it with claws and nails in here.

His the alliance is fully buffed.
I'll be assuming this.
He's buffed by 68% by the Aztec alliance.
Meanwhile, your debuffs are 52%.
Aztec buff 68% - Your debuff 42% (Mortar debuff 52%) = 26% buff (Mortar buff 16%)
He gets a 12% mortar buff from the museum. That's a total of 28%.
He also gets buffs from the library and university.
The total mortar buff is over 78%.
(Classification: 28% above, Suleiman 30%, High Explosives 20%,etc.)
Do you understand that your debuffs only weaken the effectiveness of Aztec?
So if we remove the debuff from your argument, it would look like this

Written like this, the result looks correct.

I understand if a defensive player with an ideal defense like seek laments current situation.

I'll share with you a video I recently discovered.
I was impressed that even a weakened bomber could fight this well.

Then why bother to keep pointing out he is mid level player. He has lot of room to improve. The focus should be on the actual problems.

Because they use that to justify keeping the use of the OP combo and dont get it balanced, but despite other better players than me saying the same and with even better justification, they keep focus on me just to say "you are wrong, this combo its not op" jajajaja

Imagine he shared a video to prove a point saying "bombers are still op", but he doesnt count all the mortars and artillery the player had, and even then....3 RECONS that make an easy job for bombers to wipe everything super fast.

In response, I wanted to argue that bomber players exist.
There are attack helicopter players too.
Do others exist?

No player was able to annihilate the defending player with an attack helicopter.
At least as far as I know.
But there were attack helicopter players who could destroy defenses.
I was excited when I saw it.
He was my enemy, but I respect him.
Of course, I also respect the bomber player in the video.
There are players who can destroy defenses without using the combos you mention.
Don't forget this.

The combo is OP.

how u want to push the Defense ? the numbers that mortar have is stupid high

How u want to fix the EDST ? How fix the Mortal Dmg ?

Well start with boosting coalitions on D and removing some of the advantages the attacker has. HP increase to silo etc

Basically
1. Increases HP on Silo and Dc
2. Increase the protection back on spawned units
3. Decrease Demo
4. Remove Spying of museum ( or charge 500 crowns that are given to defending player)
5. Boost Tower Coal to increase fire rate of all towers
6. List Fortified Strong as Offense building this stops Offense from combining that with Hangers which is basically allowing offense to cheat for money
7. Removal or huge nerf to Havoc Troop Tactic
8. Get across to players that 5 Star should be rare not a 100% every hit.

( Notice The Above Does Not Nerf Offense Combos )


Now I am not DEV these are just some of my suggestions right or wrong. I am trying to help

I am not here to play this stupid infighting I am here trying to come up with a solutions to problem I see everyday.

Added to that I would recommend releasing more defensive legendary artifacts to add better balance to showcase and a rebalance of the nations. We get specific perks early on for our nations but maybe they could introduce perks later on too that buff certain elements that are relevant to playing in the later ages. Some nations, such as Japanese could have decent defensive buffs that increases building HP or attack speed of towers. Maybe it's time to release some new coalitions too that buff other aspects.

Nice suggestions please keep them coming. No honest suggestion is wrong or right

I would like to see more suggestions that can be done immediately to help bring balance. Waiting to complete a chapter in uni is bit long but could prove to be very helpful long term.

Defenders are hanging on by thread to a hope of balanced game. Imagine a game revenue if both sides Offense and Defense are both excited about playing this game where true fair competition is thru out all age and getting end game defenders excited again.

Please keep them suggestions coming folks but keep the fighting out

I have a crazy and impossible proposal.
Just like with offense, there should be a cost system for defense.
I've always wondered, why do I have the same number of defensive buildings as other players?
I think there should be more original bases.
You can build two or more missile silos within that cost.
However, missile silos are important defensive facilities and are expensive, so if you build two, you will have less other defensive facilities.
Economic buildings are not included in the cost. You must build the same number of them as you do now.
All defensive towers must have at least one built.
So,you can now create more original bases than ever before. For example, you can create a base with many sniper towers or many tank hangars.
There are also missile silo-only bases.
I feel weak because I gave an extreme example lol

BHG adjusts cost depending on the season.
Of course, they will adjust not only defense costs but also attack costs.

Airstrip and Barracks cost caps and costs are multiplied by 10
This is because current costs do not allow for fine-tuning.
The cost of the mortar change from 6 to 60.
Attack helicopter is 120.
I don't think it should be nerfed.
However, I think that if the nerf is due to cost adjustment, it won't be too much.
For example, nerfing the cost of mortars from 60 to 120 would be too much.But, a nerf of 60 to 80 would be a good adjustment.
After adjustment, if the mortar becomes too weak, BHG can change the cost to 75 or 70.
Cost adjustments can also be used for Boost up.
Reduce the cost of a rifleman from 10 to 7, or the cost of a bazooka from 40 to 35 etc.

I can't comment on the specific cost of defense because I can't think of anything.

- In Seek list, the problem I see is that it also benefit the Offensive player. And in counter position, someone can say that "nerf a troop" also affects a D player army when attack. Maybe if they give us a way to separate Offensive from Defensive (for example, like a "boost button" or a "path selection" and that only affect the O and D separatly so the effect only affect that part of the account and not as a whole, so you only have the right to 1 benefit and not both)

- Maybe Im mistaken, but I dont see Demolition as op. Its true it can destroy a Silo, but everytime I suffered that its because they had to spent tactics or airtroops slots in 1 Recon and at least 5-6 Demo on the silo, so the cost/benefit probably its ok.

- The major problem with the Mortar/Artillery combo more than damage, is the range. They shoot from their house and dont activate any defense range encirclement. So maybe a boost on Tower range?

- In Parmenion suggestion, the major issue I see is that beside Germany, Rome and China; the other civs bonus are lacking hard even in their defensive bonuses. And tbh, at least in my opinion, only Germany and China are worth to use. So maybe a rework here could be great. Germany has a 15% extra damage on attack, so why not a Civ with 15% defense bonus when picked?

Well counters
1. Demo nerf and Boost Protection rather than nerf EDST and DPS to Leggo the keeping the silo alive will slow the attackers as well keeping defending units wit protection longer durations
2. With the coalition boost defense fire rate to help counter range on Leggo without nerfing the combo

Your path suggestion is i do not see as needed. As the showcase gives D players enough boost to attack Offense Bases. So nerf on any combo is irrelevant to defenders attacking we are supposed to suck anyway.

As for all the suggestions thanks for bringing them I am just somewhat of different view

Nerfing troops is not my goal. Finding a counter boost to balance is my goal

idk what they are doing but its feels like 0

Well how about instead of just saying what’s crap and attacking BHG , you start think ways to fix it ? I am not saying my suggestions are the right but I am trying something other than asking for a nerfs.

Rollin your good player I know you have some actual suggestions other than a nerf to help I know your frustration I been right beside you the entire yelling for fixes

There's just too many issues to fix to offer suggestions. Paratroopers, EDST, Demo, Havok Armies etc. Even if you fix a couple the others will still be a problem. The showcase along with the mythicals has just made a mess. Their model now is to bleed p2w people on every monthly event with a new legendary that offers both offense and defense and makes them buy the event pass or fall behind.
