How to succeed with MRL? Question

Yeah, I just got MRL mk5 with good council support for this troop but I feel it's poorly performing. I even have less museum or council perks for artillery and it performs way better.
Does anyone have a good troop combo with MRLs or are they just bad?

try to think of them as normal artillery. maybe that will help? if it works for them it might work for them.

also make sure you get level10 LRE optics for that +1 range and do library techs too

A good combo is to use APCs as front line protection for them, let them take out buildings from range. Don't forget Sun Tzu research.
And the extra range helps, as @Dhruv patel said.
